I want to learn how to apply colors/materials to various portions of the attached SketchUp file.
1 - The subject photo was projected onto the end wall of the living room.
The side walls are not part of the living room that is to be remodeled.
The face and sides of the existing brick fireplace will be covered with wallboard and
painted to match the side walls of the living room.
First I would like to use the eye dropper (if appropriate) to obtain the color of the right side
wall and apply to it to the front face of selected portions of the fireplace. I
I want to cover over the existing stone mantle with that side wall color as well.
I also want to apply a wood grained material to the newly modeled mantle on the
the fireplace. That item is the long narrow rectangle whose boundaries project
past each side of the fireplace.
2 - I have no problem applying materials/colors to a SketchUp model, but I can't find
any help to apply colors to a projected image (photo) on a SketchUp model.
Thanks,
k e n (A SkecthUp newbie)
I wish to modify an architectural element on a photograph, print it out and show it to a customer for approval. The existing architectural element could be the roof shingles, siding or a front door. I would like to project the new replacement element on the existing one along with the new color & texture.
Can I import the photograph using "Match Photo", set the origin and the red & green axes and then proceed to superpose the new architectural element on the photograph? Or must the new element be generated as a independent SketchUp graphic and then imported into the photograph and superposed to replace the original architectural element?
Where in the process would the distortion and sizing of the element be performed so that it would fit properly over the photograph?
Thank You,
annken
I have printed out instructions from Sketch Up 8.0 for
the downloading/installation of Cut List 4.1.4.
Where is the actual Cut List file located such that I
can select it and download it to my PC?
Thanks,

Gentlemen:
Is there a single command that will provide the three global
coordinate locations of a selected point on a 3D object?
If there is a command, then one can use the global coordinates
to MOVE another object directly to that location.
Thanks,
