Dave, you can use Zorro2 inside one group/component and slice that group without affecting the rest of the model. You can have the walls you want to be taller in one group and the walls you want to be shorter in another group. Apply one section to the first group and use Zorro2 and then apply a section to the second group and use Zorro2. It just a matter of choosing what to slice...

Seems your last file has problem! It's block the computer when you try to explode some components!

If anyone is still interested in this thread and curved folding, I found this free programme which will fold models. It will only recognise .obj files, but sketchup will export, then you can import it back into sketchup. Wouldnt it be great to have this sort of plugin for sketchup! Dave R, in hidden line mode, the same thing happens as in a monochrome face style, single click selects an edge or face quickly, double click selects a face and its boundaries, quite promptly triple clicking selects a face but if the edges were already selected, they deselect. In wireframe single clicking and double clicking have a slightly quicker response but single click selects an edge, double click adds two adjacent faces but still no triple click. My project is now complete and it hasn't been a major problem, but curious since its only in this model.

House Builder does NOT 'come' with any SketchUp installation. You have to deliberately install it yourself. There are only a small handful of su_ extensions shipped with SketchUp's installer... If you get and install the SketchUcation PluginStore Toolset [now v3 ExtensionStore] from the PluginStore then that has Managers. This allows you to disabled selected Extensions AND Plugins. Disable [red-button] House Builder and restart SketchUp. You can enable it temporarily [orange-button] when you want to use it. Or enable it fully [green-button], as you desire...

Very likely the Materials window had gotten moved off screen. If it happens again, try this: go to Preferences>Workspace and click on Reset Workspace. Then try opening the Materials window again.

ACT can add a camera and its 'frustum' that is so big, that it makes the model's bounds so big, that it instigates the clipping issue !

Have you tried, Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension... button Choose the RBZ, answer 'Yes'... and it installs... You question thus far is not clear. Rich's RBZ >>> ZIP only allows you to see the contents. BUT the RBZ format has been a round since v8M2 and lets you install the contents automatically - thus avoiding user-generated-balls-ups...

Thanks, garystan As above, newer versions of SketchUp can automatically open files saved in older versions. Yes rendering plugins have all sorts of adjustable settings for materials and lighting. Try using the Sketchucation PluginStore software to find and manage plugins. There is also the SketchUp Extension Warehouse as a source. With newer versions of SketchUp you will find that the methods for installation have been enhanced, though the underlying mechanism is still the same (saving to the appropriate folder). Start from the beginning (as if you've not done it before) and read the instructions. There are sticky threads here as well.

Nope... It's fast if you use Blendup. Just Hide all edges and then, unhide where you want your seams to be. Then UNwrap there using the Unwrap tool. It should be a straight forward job to you (because it is for me). The only thing is that when your model comes back to sketchup, if modify it's geometry without a plugin that keeps UV maps (like SubD or Artisan do) you are probably f''' up and need to redo the map... But then again, with those seams in the right places it's fast. For flat faces it will be better to UNwrap in Sketchup.

You could likely do what you need using the C/C++ SketchUp SDK, which can read and write the SketchUp file format. But there is no official support for C# or java as such. You would be on your own getting a bridge from those languages to the API working. The file format is proprietary and unpublished, so you could not legally roll your own API. SketchUp embeds a Ruby interpreter for extensions, and you could use that as well - though not as a standalone Ruby program. SketchUp would have to be running to execute the Ruby internally.
