No on my Windows 11 laptop the 2 entries are present. If an application is not visible in the list of applications, it could be for several reasons, what I would do first is check in the registry if the entry in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall ", once you do a search on "SketchUp 2023" which for my part with the latest version gives the following result "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall{6af6b504-1cb0-504c-f20f-061179014e6d}" If you find that without any approach, look at the line named UninstallString and take the value MsiExec.exe /I{6af6b504-1cb0-504c-f20f-061179014e6d}. in my case. Executing this command starts the sketchup setup. If you don't find anything, I would reinstall sketchup 2023, simpler than manual cleaning. There is another one for troubleshooting at Microsoft https://download.microsoft.com/download/7/E/9/7E9188C0-2511-4B01-8B4E-0A641EC2F600/MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab But it is a tool that requires a certain amount of experience, so be careful, it is necessary to take some precaution, such as a backup system at least, see an image of the disk.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm not trying to tell you or your company to change its policies. I'm only relaying what I've seen from a large number of users who have ended up with files that are corrupted to the point of being unrecoverable. In the last week I personally dealt with three or four different users who had been working with files saved directly to network servers. In each case the files were no longer viable. It doesn't seem to be only when a manual save is performed. Often the problem appears to happen during auto-save. I'm not telling anyone what to do regadring this. Only what I've seen from other users. I've seen enough problem files from others that there's no way I would work on files saved to a network server or the cloud. I would always download them to my internal drive to work on them and then upload back to the server or cloud location. You're right that a local drive can die but it isn't as common an event as a break in a network connection. I back up all of my files to a second internal drive and also publish them to my Trimble Connect storage just in case. I'm glad you've never had problems and I hope you never do.

A few months back I was working on a project which included a huge component that I had drawn in a separate file. I used Copy and Paste to insert the component into the main model and it took a good 30 to 40 seconds to appear.

266mb? Have you tried purging unused stuff? I'd bet there's some. Yes, you would use File>Insert if you are starting a new file from LO or you want to add other SKP files. You want to avoid creating multiple references to the same SKP file. That creates problems. FWIW, the LO file contains a copy of the SKP file so the LO file size is directly impacted by the size of the SKP. If you had multiple references to your 266mb file, the LO file would be grossly overweight. And for no benefit.

You should install the Sketchucation Extension Store found under Resources at the top of this page. Then let it install extensions from here automatically.

A lot of Sketchup (and Layout) is limited to a single core speed, even the 64 bit versions. A 12 core computer is amazing for rendering with external plugins, but a higher clocked dual or quad core computer will probably get you a lot better performance modelling and producing documents in Layout.

Sure i use the direction keys to lock inferences on x,y,z axis all the time. But this black line just seems to lock by itself and i have to select another tool and then select line again to get rid of it. Annoying

Thanks all.I downloaded the trial to a friends computer and then exported from there.Not ideal but worked for this time.

to clarify what I was pointing out... any filename includes the path, and yours contains ../SPYKER_2:06/.., with the 2 and the 0 separated by a colon... then Steve and I chat about how some apps cope with what is considered by Apple the only 'illegal' character. Change the colon and all should work... john
