Does any one know why some models display incorrectly in layout when hybrid or vector mode is selected?

In the image of the of the gold triangle in the clipping mask you are seeing unwanted lines that are behind surfaces.
In the screen shot of the SKP is how it should look
In the image of the quicklink with all the loops it work fine no issues.

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

My colleague has downloaded Sketchup 2024 and now can't seem to uninstall Sketchup 2023. It doesn't show up in the installed apps page or via control panel. Even our IT dept couldn't seem to locate it and just referred us to the Sketchup help page

However when following this guide you get to step two & cannot continue as Sketchup 2023 isn't in the list.

Let me know if you have any ideas as its annoying not having Sketchup2024 as default

Hi all

I have started working at a new company who stores all their files on a server.
When opening, saving and updating Sketchup/Layout files its very slow.

Do you pro's keep all your files on the local disc? Does this make it quicker?

The machine i'm using is a brand new gaming PC, Deets below

The internet speed here is about 80 mbps download & upload

Is there an optimum way of organising skp & lo?

Hi Box, yes tried that, turns out somehow the wardrobe door i was trying to move was the problem, somehow it got corrupted or maybe the mb count was to high, it did have quite a big psd texture on it, must try it without the texture and see if that works but i just ended up redrawing it. thanks

Hi, can anyone tell me why copy and paste between files has stopped working?

It will still work with a simple shape but when i try with anything more complicated it doesnt work.

I have reset the pboard in my activity monitor to no avail.

Im using sketchup pro 2018 on a mac running high sierra

Can anyone tell me if its possible to chamfer or round a corner or angle just on a 2d plane?
Obviously Round corner plugin on a 3d shape, but does it work in 2d?

Sure, use the arc tool and it even trims it for you but if you want to chafer multiple offsets on many corners in one operation.

If not is there a plugin available that does this?

As in the image i want to take the corners off a square thats on a face. A=B

It seems to be behaving itself now.
And I also hadn't thought to duplicate the page so i will be doing that in future if i run into trouble.
The file is 266mb and the viewport wasn't modified.
I guess you would only go file>insert if you wanted viewports from a separate .skp

Hi all

When adding a page to your layout document but the reference is too big for your clipboard to copy & paste from the previous page, do you go file-insert-navigate to the file?
I not sure why some of these view ports are to big for the clipboard, the model is quite small but i suppose the texture sizes make a difference.

Is there a quicker way?

I have a problem with section cut faces assigned to layers and set in scenes.
I create a section cut, create a section cut face for it and assign it a layer corresponding to that scene.
I do this multiple times and then when i orbit, the section cut faces are still visible.
I select one and it says its on layer 0 even though i just assigned it a layer.
Doesn't happen to any other type of group/component.

A button for locking the orthographic view when working in 2d would be helpful.
Would make panning around easier. If i accidentally orbit i have to click on plan view button again to align the view again. Also maybe being able to rotate the view locked in orthographic would be useful.

I would like to customise my tools bars on Mac like they can be in windows. Floating toolbars are a bit annoying and time consuming moving them around.

I have just installed a trial of v-ray on my mac and the thing just wont work.
Either it gives me a bug splat or the spinning wheel of death rotates endlessly.
Please see attached a pic of the activity monitor with the freeze.

I have 64GB ram and a 4gb graphics card
The SKP is 4.9MB

Got it
My other gripe is when searching in Extension warehouse it doesn't find the plugins you want.
I dont know whether its a case sensitive thing or you have to type exactly the name.
See the example section cut face and it doesn't find it and this seems to happen to a lot of plugins i search for.
Or maybe its because the signature has expired.
Please let me know your thoughts and thanks again for your time.

Can some one tell me why extensions under preferences has gone from sketchup 2017.
Im wondering how i can install an rbz.
I have read an article in the sketchup help that says, as before go on preferences/extensions and locate the rbz etc
However the extensions tab has disappeared in this version of sketchup.
Also when going into the extensions manager and search for this or many other plugins they dont exist.

Can someone tell me why layout takes so long to update the model/reference?

I have 2 x 3.06 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
64GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4095 MB
The skp is 406.7 MB
And the layout doc is 245.1 MB

It takes about 7 sec to save the skp and about 10 sec for the layout doc to reflect the changes made.
Is this normal, seem a bit slow to me.

Can anyone tell me why when a layout document gets to a certain size it won't copy and paste or rather paste.
You have to manually go to file/insert and add your window etc?

Sure i use the direction keys to lock inferences on x,y,z axis all the time. But this black line just seems to lock by itself and i have to select another tool and then select line again to get rid of it. Annoying

Could someone tell me why when using the line tool the inference engine locks with a black line automatically after drawing a line
