In the first way you can change all the maps applied to an object at once (diffuse, bump etc) while in the second you can change them one by one. Remember that the number you see shows the times the texture is repeated on a surface, so higher the number smaller the texture. [image: vyQU_Cattura.JPG] [image: Gued_Cattura_2.JPG]

Hi: Ive been doing a bit of research on this subject as well. My findings: There appear to be four sources to convert SU 3D to 3D for viewing by othgers, clients, etc. The SimLab option that someone else mentioned at around $100. Very simple to use and the fact that anyone who has a recent Acrobat reader (8 or later, I believe) can rotate the model, turn on or off lighting, do basic measurements, etc. Nice and simple, but not many bells and whistles. eDrawings has a viewer, (free) and pro at around $100, that has more options, but requires a eDrawings viewer (which can be packaged into a single executable). Al Hart's (and associates) iNextRender has one that is attached to their render machine, I believe. Finally, Hypercosm which has a free and pro (around $200. This also requires a viewer or a player, but the viewer can be downloaded fro free as an applet for your browser. Hypercosm Pro, though not recently updated (I think) is the most sophisticated, permitting a 'client' to do more re viewing options. Hope this adds to your dilema! Robert

@unknownuser said: Interesting idea to work from a poem. Is it an assignment or did you come up with the idea yourself? It’s an MA assignment, it is a very conceptual look at the poem. The idea being that libraries are becoming obsolete and this will be a virtual environment for the viewer to experience the poem. @unknownuser said: Three thoughts I have after reading the poem and looking at your renderings: The poem is quite dark and cynical, right? I think you could portray that in the renderings with some moodier lighting. I was looking for the realism of the actual model I am going to build, to show the tutor my plans. @unknownuser said: Have you seen the paper relief models that Zaha Hadid maked/s? It could be interesting to combine the flatness of shadowboxes with a flat-ish architetural representation. Even just scale everything to flatten it and play with the field of view. I have, her work is very interesting @unknownuser said: The stair are the most architectural element and could use some development. The texture on the treads doesn't seem right. And the form could either be more real (stringers holding thin treads) or conceptual like a physical model (a little overlap of each stair like they are glued or just floating treads like it is purely computer graphics without gravity).

The stairs are just a means to an end for getting the viewer down the change in level. But following a tutorial yesterday I am exchanging the stairs for a ladder. I will post photos of the finish article soon (when I build it)

@unknownuser said: His identity wasn't a secret after the inquest into Richard Hammond's crash anyway. It wasn't definitive. Its a sure thing now. He could have said the service he provided to the BBC was just the stunt driving such as in the Evo challenge and the parachute-into-car challenge where you actually see his face (hang on, i thought the stig doesn't have a face??) one more series?? oh dear. guess they will be immortalized on channel Dave anyway.

Thanks for your thoughts, as it goes the client pretty much removed most of the light from the scheme so all that trawling the net was a waste. Good job I didn't go ahead and buy one!!!

Thats why i think it could be a bit memory hungry. I thought it could work like a viewport type box (like in AutoCAD).
