RE: Ability to add more 'root' menus
@alz said:
I wish there was a way to simply rebuild the whole Context Menu. Or if not possible, then allow plugin context menus to be places at the top, instead of the bottom.
If you want to get crazy, how about a radial pie menu? Or if not possible, a quad menu (4 context menus cornered to each other... similar to what 3ds MAX has). Each quad would be devoted to a commmon action, like Current Selection, Object Management (layers), Tools, Editor (axis, globals, etc.).
BTW, I did find if you simply rename your ruby script, you can change the order where it appears in the menus. For example, if you want options in Zoo.rb to come before Ape.rb, then rename them to 00_Zoo.rb and 01_Ape.rb.
+1 for this. fully agree-

RE: Can't boot Vista, nor recovery CD - Help
Yea, I had a nice little phew myself. All thought it took nearly the whole Saturday. I had been a good boy and backed up my data, but what did that help when the cursed thing wouldn't boot? At least it's up and running.
But I'm still wondering what caused it. Was it that the ubuntu CD wouldn't eject when it shut down?

Resetting BIOS settings did the trick!

RE: Can't boot Vista, nor recovery CD - Help
But I should be able to forma the new harddrive with the Vista installation CD. That what I did when I first built this system. Woudl it really make a difference?

Can't boot Vista, nor recovery CD - Help
Yesterday I tried a live CD of Ubuntu 8.10. After playing around for a while I told it to restart the computer.
Ubuntu shuts down, and the message that I should take out the CD from the CD drive appears. But, the CD isn't ejected. It wont eject when I press the eject button either. So I press the power button. I then start the computer again, but I still cannot eject the CD and it automatically boots into the Live CD again. I have to power the machine don and stick a paperclip into the little hole in the front of the CD drive.
CD finally out of the drive.
I start the coputer again, and then all weird things happens. Windows Vista won't load.
I either get a black screen,
or I get the "Windows has not shut down properly message", and I'm asked to start Windows normally or in Safe Mode. NEither won't work. Tells me that some part of the system is corrupted or missing. The message varies. Some times it complains about the registry, some times the kernel.
I once made a little progress with Safe Mode, but it stopped mid way through laoding drivers.
Two times when I got a black screen I checked the POST code on my mother board, I've gotten 2b and 8b. (ABit AN8 32X)
So I figure that I've either got corrupted system files, or hard drive.
I insert the Windows install CD and boot from that. But I don't make it to the recovery console. After the progressbar indicating it's loading, I get the same errors and behavour as if I try to boot from the hard drive.
I've got two Windows CD's, none of them work on this computer. But they work on my second system.
I've bought a new Harddrive, unplugged my two other harddrives. I insert the Windows CD again, hoping I can install Windows on the new hardrive, but I still get the very same errors.
I have no idea on how I can correct this. Either get my old system working, or install Windows fresh. Just getting windows to boot.
Does any one have any idea of what the cause might be?

RE: Section Box + Export section
Just to elaborate on #2, it's useful for when you want to render a section cut.
Also, for exporting section cuts, it's be nice to have an option that caps the cut geometry with material of your choice. -
Section Box + Export section
-
It'd be nice with a Section box, similar to what Revit offers.
-
And another very useful feature would be to export the section cut and/or crop to section cut.

Not quite the size I was looking for, but that Hemmings site had a very nice set to detail photos. Really good for interior as well. Thanks.

RE: [HELP]Delet all textures with a plugin,quickly
@unknownuser said:
it is useful, all the textures of the models are deleted.
But look here, how to delet them in "Materials" quickly. I am trying to render with "vray for sketchup'.
vray can work fast with none uselessly textures. So is there the plugin?

If you want to render a scene with only one material you can use the "Override materials" checkbox in the Global Switches section of V-Ray's option.

Undo freezes SketchUp
Occationally, when Undoing an operation SketchUp will freeze up and use full CPU power of the core it's running on. Several people at the office has noticed this. And it's not a specific operation that's undone.
We are not sure, but suspect it happens when multiple undo commands are given.
My system got lots of rubys, but it also happen on system with fresh SU and no rubys.

Folder indicataion for Component Listview
I often use Listview for my Component Window as I findit easier to locate by name than thumbnail. But in the view it's impossible to distinguish folders and components.
It would be nice if there was some indication such as an icon. And it'd also be very good to have all folder at the top of the lsit instead of scattered around the list. -
RE: Anyone got an 1970 Plymouth GTX?
Thanks cheffy, but it's not a 3D model I need. It's photos for texture references. And I've gone through pages and pages of google search images as well as Flickr. But most of them are from the same angle or of a low resolution.

Anyone got an 1970 Plymouth GTX?
Or knows someone who's got one?
I'm looking for some really good high resolution images of this car. Especially a good photo straight towards the front. Here in Norway the winter is looming so all the old muscle cars is hidden away in the garages...
I'm working on a model with this car.So, if anyone got one, or knows anyone, and wouldn't mind taking some photos for me, could you please let me know?
Long shot...

RE: Sketchup Bugs
Since they all seem to work when hardware acceleration is off it sound like a graphic driver bug. Is your graphics driver up to date? What hardware do you have?

RE: [Plugin] Round Edge - v1.0 (by Bezier)
@cadfather said:
when i get these bugs i usually empty the plugins folder and try the ruby on its own - if it works then i know it is a conflict somewhere. then i try again, each time adding back small groups of the other scripts.. of course one needs to close/open sketchup everytime.
Or just type in
load 'rubyfilename.rb'
in the ruby console.

RE: Axis for groups
My workaround is converting the groups to components. Which cutter up my component list.
