    • Looking for Furnitures

Looking at the 3D warehouse, its still lacking for furniture selection.

Where is a better place to get furniture. lights and props for interiors?

Could max models be used in SU. I bet there are loads of furniture in max out there. All the China rendering houses work in max and they seem to have loads of furniture....

If I get the Pro Licence finally. Can I have it on my laptop in office, then when I get home and no longer have the laptop switched on, can I carry on with the same pro licence on my pc with big monitor?

    • RE: Recommend a few Interior Renderers

I did not realise only one render machine works within Sketch up.

So what other renderers would be suitable if you disregard the within sketchup clause?

    • Recommend a few Interior Renderers

Yeah I know its an impossible question.

      Something reasonably priced
Very Easy / Intuitive to use
      Preferable can use within Sketchup
      Short learning curve
      Quick rendering
      Reflections

I will never want to go for a photo realistic render, just something that looks like it was well drawn by a sketchy hand!

      Cheers!!

    • RE: Interior Design plugins

Most of the Interiors I see are single rooms or rather airy looking houses. I am an interior designer and struggle to us Sketchup for designing Interiors that encompass multiple rooms where the windows are not large and the chance to gaze though the windows and see the model are minimal. When you are trying to view/work with a space you have ceilings in the way, cameras getting stuck behind walls and it is easy to get bogged down with all these obstructions. Architects have it too easy!!!! So a few years after I first asked the question - does anyone have any tips or tricks, work arounds or plugins to help interior designs working on real spaces?

    • RE: Why don't more people use SketchUp to place 3D components?

to study space and make sketchy sketches, then sketch up is fine. it really really needs simple interior lighting though............ and a cheating / magical way to make tranparent/reflective things as one does when one "sketches" with hands

wow you are all too buzy talking about some kludge thing to notice that someone has just announced SU7 release date!! Amazing.

Unfortunatley its only relaesed in mountian time, and as mountains move so slowliy I will have to wait millions of years untill it catches up with GMT.

    • RE: Roof and Floor Detail

      How long did they take?

I would like to do this sort of thing instead of sketching by hand, but I find the dimensions and breaklines limiting and more time comsuming especially if need PS to finish.

Any Rubies out there???? Or maybe SU7 might feature them........probably not!

    • RE: Break lines etc

Yes but wow its a lot of work to make each dimension line into a block!
I suppose for the break lines I was dreaming of a tool that will actually cut the model where ever u add the breakline.

Do you use SU for details etc?

    • RE: Where is SU 7 ?

Regarding SU 7, maybe the silience is because the omnipotent Autodesk wants to swallow Sketchu into its cavernous maw. and make us all take out overdrafts to pay for it......

    • Break lines etc

I have some details amd I want to add some break lines as a way to crop the detail, just as in standard 2d drafting - is there a way to do this.

Also I want to move the line ends on my dimemension lines so they dont run into the model.

Any one run inti these problems before - basicaly I making some construction details but in 3d.
