Have you installed some software that came with the mouse? Such software can change default functions of buttons. Uninstall that software and everything should became to normal. If it's bluetooth, check the settings. Put middle button functions on default.

It sounds like the mouse is using its own drivers.

If you go control panel->hardware and sound->mouse you should be able to change the middle mouse button back to 'middle click.'

              Hi All

If you are using logitech devices along with setpoint in XP try this:

              1. open the logitech setpoint application (mouse and keyboard settings). You can get to this by opening the application directly or through the "mouse" application in the control panel
              2. select the mouse you are using on the pull down menu
              3. now, here is the key operation....on "scroll wheel" which is menu item no. 3, select "Other" from the tasks available for the scroll wheel, then select the function "Generic Button" from the rather large number of possibilities. Be sure when the "other" task for the scroll wheel is selected, no 3 now reads "generic button".
              4. click on "apply" and you should be all set.

              Regards
              Jim
