Camera will not keep still
I just wish my camera acts like its on a tripod and stays at a certain height so that when I walk around or look around or back up etc. the camera stays at the height I want it. Its very annoying and feels like its floating in space.
Is there a way to solve such issues?

CAD Layers in SU
Hi,
I imported a CAD plan and it came with trillions of layers.
I went through the painful process of turning off layers that where not needed.
Then realised that I ought to group remaining entities to a new group and layer called CAD.
But I'm left with all these layers not used in the layers box. How to get rid of them?
Also I wonder if all this will slow my machine a lot as I'm having a painful time zooming into things. Sometimes the damned zoon will not move in. All I could think of was its my mouse or all these not used layers slowing my machine down.
Advise will be welcome.

RE: Recommend a few Interior Renderers
brighter 3D does look good, although im not really an expert. Better think hard to decide if it will be better than Twilight or Light up and see if I can catch the sale.

RE: Recommend a few Interior Renderers
Well thats good then! Id the software is fun thats an added bonus! Seems a bit pricey compared to Twilight. Should try them both out.

RE: Recommend a few Interior Renderers
The more funny is LightUp! - Is this a positive comment?

RE: Recommend a few Interior Renderers
Having biased, unbiased and interactive render modes - was a bit confused by this statment. Should I be looking at all 3 or is one more important when choosing a renderer?

RE: Recommend a few Interior Renderers
Like the look of Twilight as Maxwell seems to have size and other limitations.

RE: How to do this in Sketchup
When the book mentioned Maxwell, I suppose it could be changed to Twilight or another renderer?

RE: How to do this in Sketchup
Unfortunatley the books method involves rendering a copy in maxwell, rendering a copy in fotosketcher (or something)plus photoshop work. For what I want Its a bit over the top, just a fresh clean slek render as above.

RE: Simple Artisan examples collection
Will artisan work correctly with Sketchup 2014 I wonder?

RE: Sofas and armchairs - how to make
Wow, There are some impressive sofa renderings from the Magician of a guy called Alvis. But I love all these ebooks that are available these days. Will these ebooks show me similar ways to make tufted sofas like Alvis?

Sofas and armchairs - how to make
Hi - want to model some real furniture from catalogues with all the curved members and upholstered parts and non straight parts but not familiar with curvy commands. Any good tutorial or recommendations?

How to name groups quicker
I find it a gross pain to have to right click and select rename to do this. Is there a way to do it as the group is created. Important cos we need to make lots of groups don't we.
Cheers!

RE: How to do this in Sketchup
I should try this Dennis style. Although I don't think it will really achieve the above.
Looking at it I think they have used Photoshop to add shading to a sketch. I like the simple fresh feel without all the bothering with actual materials.
Also the lines that need to be shown are there and the lines that are broken are the correct ones. I have problems getting this effect in SU with the sketchy lines missing bits I want to show.

RE: How to do this in Sketchup
Thanks Rich. Where are these books from? Cant see it on Amozon. Is it an E book?

Anyone tried Piranasi recently
I remember this software looked very interesting a while back. It was bought over, not sure how its doing now? Anyone use it? Any info can share.
PS - its a rendering software that makes your stuff look hand painted or coloured.

How to do this in Sketchup
This is a hand render 3d. How would I be able to get this effect in 100% sketchup?

RE: Looking for Furnitures
I assumed there would be a place where ppl shared these things. Like 3D warehouse just more...
Plus it would be to the furniture companies benefit to provide these models for designers to present to clients etc.
