Hey Pete, LOVE IT! Talk soon. Dave P.S. I noticed that some members have standard tag lines at the end of their signatures ... many of them prophetic and thought provoking (seriously). So I thought I'd try one out for size: "To idiot drivers: OBJECTS IN YOUR MIRROR ARE MORE PISSED OFF THAN THEY APPEAR!"

20/20 sounds familiar. I worked at Menard's home improvement store for awhile and did a lot of work in the kitchens area. Is this perhaps the kitchen design program I was using? It's been awhile since I've used it. -Brodie

The idea of having geometry sticking to groups and components crossed my mind once a long time ago, as I guess it has to many other people as well. I wonder what possibilities it would create for sketchy-physics if it worked ... Or maybe someone could make a script that creates a group like FFD, but you use tools to draw a 'skeleton' in it, and the script methods .distance and .distance_to_line to find out the closest point in the skeleton from the mesh, and move it based on the movement of the skeleton, perhaps based on the distance to that closest point aswell. Who knows if that would be possible or not though.

Wow, 'does she clean' (refering to the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) coming from a woman... It was all rather funny until this point.

@solo said: Adam You got me thinking, I can make these vegetation .png's as top view or normal face-me view, if I group the two components as say.... Boxwood hedge_FM and Boxwood hedge_TV (FM=face me and TV=top view)in a folder per species then your method of puting the TV (top views) on a seperate layer would work well as the top view image will be the actual plant that the front view is. I will play around with this next week when I return from New England. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Please keep us informed.

Pete, Yeah, we are feeling the hurt from the economy as well. Hope things get back to normal soon. You should check out this plugin for Mental Ray - http://www.3dtotal.com/services/pluggins/bluecherry_shop.asp It turns Mental Ray into Podium. ....and it's only $15.

Was it a surprise? not really, however i was using a ruby i do not use regularly and with subdivide it worked better than I imagined. This one I intended to make a stone/rock ancient road, I used the protrude for basic shape, then used subdivide 2 iriterations, then FFD to create curve and turn in road, then made component and duplicated it four times to create a road. [image: bumpyroadyt9.png] serving suggestion: [image: roadromexd4.png] This scene in Vue is just over 30 million polygons as every blade of grass is a mesh.
