And in 2015 You can customise your toolbars so you don't need to have all the buttons you only use rarely. Not to mention sets, part of the sketchucation tools which let's you load tools selectively.

I suppose whoever made them did that. Maybe the extra layer came in from some other app that was used to draw draw them in the same way layers come in from CAD files when they are imported. If you don't want the added layer, I guess you can get rid of it.

ok. now I know what a scale figure is. they should have called it a 'human scale figure'. I thought they meant something along the lines of a drawing scale representation such as 1" = 1'-0".

Mystic thumbs will give you thumbnails for tons of files that Windows normally would not. SU5,6,7,8,etc.

It does work on non rectangular shapes, as you can see in the animation I did elsewhere. However Polygons are a different beast as they are welded edges so it doesn't see the corners. I wish LayOut had and outliner panel. I think it would be very useful when placing or trying to select/edit/arrange multiple viewports and mask objects on a single layer.

ok - so i re-launched sketchup today and tried curviloft along spline and like magic the toolbar came back. but when i tried selecting edges with the loft along path tool to check out the offset option mentioned above, the progress bar returned. maybe i need to find info on exactly how to use the loft along path tool. but the bigger issue for me is needing to click two faces and instantly create an offset with equal width as i build ductwork systems from measurements i take from 2d cad-created duct layouts. no time to build a path between faces. thank you for your time gents.

RE: Shortcut assingment I think File/Document Setup......is the closest you will find (useful) for updating a viewport on a locked layer. This of course still requires you to make the additional selection of pertinant model reference(s)..........and of course select Update. Unfortunately there is not a shortcut option for File/DocumentSetup/Reference(s) (I wish there were!) Re: File/Update Document My guess would be you must have a specific document in the LO file selected "prior to" for this to have any effect. Best, Charlie
