Thanks Pbacot to make it so clear - I use this "rv1974 method" so often, but never with complex layer arrangements. The thought about this didn't even cross my mind - there is always something to learn

If you have LibFredo installed you can go to Window > LibFredo Settings... to view Trace Logs and Performances. This does not show info for every extension but only Fredo extensions. Maybe with a gentle poke Fredo could expand it to show how other tools affect startup times.

The bounding box isn't causing the issue, the issue is causing the bounding box. Look inside the box for stray geometry somewhere around the border of the box. Remove that and the bounding box will fit neatly around your model.

You could try Eneroth's https://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/eneroth-shadow-memory Perhaps even her https://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/eneroth-view-memory will sort you out.

Okay finally, after testing the setup for a week, I can say Eureka! Making that "symbolic link was the answer. (MKLINK /D link target.. you can Google this command for more info)**. Now, all my components is loaded on network drive and being shared by 2 different Sketchup PC in our office. Updating the menu is more efficient now unlike before that I need to copy manually from one PC to another whenever there's changes. The only downside I noticed (this is subjective) is the loading time of thumbnail on your menu- because I have tons of components on the menu (8GB), the thumbnails needs about a second or two to become visible unlike when it is saved locally- you'll see it right away. So that's it, hope this helps! **reminder when using MKLINK, first make sure that your "link" folder is non existent before using this- took me a long time of trial and error why its not working, it's because I first created an empty folder of same name- so don't do that, let the command create the link folder by itself.

Thank you guys, I will look into it. Yeah, I guess I got a bit lazy to uninstall those plugins that I don't really use regularly.

Right click the line - entity info - then change segments to smooth out the curve I think SU defaults at 24 segments, but if you increase this it will smooth out

@jql said: You'll get used to it... just stop fighting it and embrace your tired eyes glasses sooner than later! Yup, maybe in general, most users are not bothered with it at all. By the way, I found a solution- I end up using "ams_WindowSettings_4.1.5", which is amazing.

@slbaumgartner said: @tig said: Actually it's exactly 5 feet [60 inches] expressed in millimeters ! Doh! Looked at my own model info instead of the original posted image and typed too fast. Actually, 5 feet is much more arbitrary - not likely to be the default in a template. Unless of course the user had units set to feet without unit dispaly and entered 5 thinking it was 5mm ! Then layer on changed units to mm, without realizing the length-snap was now ~1.5m !!!

Too bad for me, my ASUS Z97-K board supports only AMD CrossfireX. Maybe I'll get GTX750ti, entry level. Hopefully it works fine. GTX 580 surprisingly high.. it's an old generation card, right? Hmmm, I might give it a try. On benchmark above- does 1.5 or 3GB RAM matter ?

The GTX 280, preferably the GTX285 and the GTX580 are still high ranked cards years later. Far too many people lean on and trust in that first digit. A 580 will smoke a 950... A 285 will smoke a 760. That middle digit is the winner... If you can get the 9 in the middle you're doing something. The few brand new technologies that a newest cards offer are used in hardly any software atm... Then there's the PCI speeds of MOBOs and Ram to consider. How much money are you willing to pay to say you have a new card? if it's all about speed you can get there faster, cheaper and more efficiently with older cards. As with anything, you pay a premium to be new and kool.
