@otb designworks said: @mike amos said: I also find the additional reference points when drawing to be a thorough nuisance rather than helping. I have to agree with this statement. I feel like the "improvements" to the inference engine over the last two releases have done nothing but make the modeling process more cumbersome and confusing. I agree with both you and Trimble in this regard. More inferences are very useful but things need to be fine tuned to a point that they work flawlessly. I'll add that some of these inferences are, in fact, only visual cues. Those are, imho, useless.

Will there be a fix soon for for SketchUp 2017 version soon? This plugin is awesome, but it is unfortunate that it is still not working with 2017 yet. Thanks.

Cool! Can you post other views? I'm working with come complex shapes and openings as well, so I can relate. As with all my projects, I'm learning a lot, but it isn't easy.

OK, playing around with the camera settings and fov. Not too crazy about the perspective but the backplate appears better. [image: ihMy_Test327Passes91h27mIr0aClipped.jpg]

I either make my own though the plugin or use bought catalogues. I use mxed app to make them. I never use the material library feature of sketchup. Jason Maranto did process the sorry textures. He created thumbnails that can be used in the material browser in sketchup. Then you use the auto mxm feature to replace them ate render time.

@mike amos said: I have attempted to ask how to make my own lights that will work with twilight render v2 only to be told that they are disinterested in telling me how to do so. I have never experienced this sort of problem before and would like to know if it is unreasonable of me to want to make my own lights. I can make the units fine but when it comes to making them suitable for renders with twilight render v2 I hit a brick wall and the thread is closed. Is this some kind of secrecy issue where they think I am out to steal copywrite or something of is this just another case of them not understanding a simple request and we are all just getting to the point where communication is impossible due to an irrational fear that I will lose them money somehow? All I want to do is make lights that work in twilight render v2 fcs. Mike Amos : If you go to the Twilight Render website, there are tutorials (and guidelines) for lighting. I usually create my own lamps/ lights, then adjust the lighting they produce. I'll try to help you as much as possible. But, I'm not a Pro at this. garystan

I know what you mean but I am not familiar with the sort of games you are talking about, too old probably. The interior is only 14' 8" BY 14' 8" and there is a 3' wide set of stairs too but that could be made narrower possibly. Could any setup allow for the games you mention? Without turning the television into a very expensive insurance policy. This place is only meant for a single person btw. Thanks for your points/comments, I will keep them in mind for the next one.

@driven said: it sound like you use 'Align Axis' which is a temporary state by design... for a post import ruby fix, you need to clarify what file types you refer to as the vary greatly... john Maybe that would explain why I haven't ever seen the axes move on their own. If I want to change a component's axes location, I use Change Axes which is not temporary.

The problem I have with the added reference points is that they are visually confusing, sometimes the proximity of an inference point and the end point I want to draw from is so close they are indistuishable, this leads to wasted time when I have to correct the bloomin' thing.

Thanks guys, it was not a problem until recently and I am certain something has changed, this is a problem only with v 2016 rather than prior versions. Something I should have mentioned. BTW, these 'arcs' are several feet across.

Thanks mate, I am using Renditioner which does not work in sketchup 2015 where there is already a problem with memory. Sometimes it will open in v14 and sometimes not but I will try for a few more views.
