Home made Lights for twilight render v2.
-
I have attempted to ask how to make my own lights that will work with twilight render v2 only to be told that they are disinterested in telling me how to do so.
I have never experienced this sort of problem before and would like to know if it is unreasonable of me to want to make my own lights. I can make the units fine but when it comes to making them suitable for renders with twilight render v2 I hit a brick wall and the thread is closed.
Is this some kind of secrecy issue where they think I am out to steal copywrite or something of is this just another case of them not understanding a simple request and we are all just getting to the point where communication is impossible due to an irrational fear that I will lose them money somehow?
All I want to do is make lights that work in twilight render v2 fcs.

Really? They always seem so helpful to me. How are you having problems? I made a lamp and it didn't seem right and they fixed it for me.
Which renderer setting you are using affects how you should power the light, it seems.
Download the sample Bauhaus lamp (render speed test) on their forum and look at how that light is made (type of glass, size of light element etc.)

It seems they would rather refund a purchase than answer a question.

Mike , sorry you seem to be having some problems over on the Twilight forum. Like pbacot I've found them to be very helpful. all that aside , what kind of lights are you trying to make ? Some of the Twilight user over here may be able to help you out too.

I merely wanted to make my own lights and some light art pieces. Chris gave me the response that telling me how to create lights that would function over the different render levels would be breaching copywrite etc. I have NO idea where that idea comes from, perhaps a dose of paranoia. Perhaps there is someone here with an axe to grind and they are doing it via Twilight render?

Beyond me. Sounds bizarre.

Mike Amos :
If you go to the Twilight Render website, there are tutorials (and guidelines) for lighting. I usually create my own lamps/ lights, then adjust the lighting they produce. I'll try to help you as much as possible. But, I'm not a Pro at this. garystan
