Yea, always avoid comparing strings. Such a shame that they've not added a proper comparison method for all objects.

Hopefully, this file will work. It uses the system call ShGetFolderPath or ShGetSpecialFolerPath to retrieve the folder, so maybe the paths will be localized. @thomthom said: But on XP the folder names for sure is localised. I've used Tkinter with Python. It gives excellent results in about half the code wx requires. It's set of widgets isn't as extensive as wx, but it's much better than JavaScript's tiny set.

This was no slow-down - services were simply not available. The only sites I had trouble with were gmail, google reader, and google groups. Everywhere else was working fine.

Actually, I didn't figure out how to make it happen but it has happened to me on several occasions. The scene tabs have even been above the menus in my experience. It happens when reopening the window after it has been minimized. It isn't predictable though. The only way I have found to restore them to their normal position is to close and reopen SU.
