@Rich-O-Brien I used to use Photoshop Elements for years because I only do basic stuff, but now I'm trying to get to grips with GIMP which seems to offer everything I need for free, but it's offered in a more confusing way
@Rich-O-Brien I'm hoping they'll fix this issue soon rather than me having to pay for Photoshop or similar to edit images first, the oath of least resistance is always my favourite .
Hello. For over a decade I've used the same workflow when I create garden designs. As I only show the house for a bit of context and shadows because it's not the primary focus, then I don't spend much time on the house model, I just create the shape and map site photos onto the faces (with a well calculated focal point this has saved me many hours over the years). When I import the texture images I then place the pins in the corners of the house image and drag to make sure everything lines up nicely - but render softwares don't like this (Enscape in particular) so I found that if I 'Make Unique Texture' after I've adjusted it then that has always resolved the problem until now. In 2024 I'm also seeing that Sketchup doesn't like making textures unique and I end up with some kind of contorted mess.
Here's an example that I'm just starting on. I'm not doing anything different to what I've always done, but this feature is now unuseable and I'll have to manually create versions of every house from start to finish which I'm far too lazy to be doing
Before M.U.T
After M.U.T
@Mike-Amos The 2024 upgrade is the best one I've ever seen, normally they're just a nuisance but this one is worth the effort.
@Glenn-at-home It's resolved now Glenn, apparently there's a new version of dxf that Sketchup doesn't like so I just reverted to .dwg file format and it's fine.
@grizzler To add a bit more detail to this, the dxf files are generated by the Moasure measuring device which can then be exported as a 3D wireframe dxf via gmail, whatsapp, messenger, dropbox etc, but apparently there are issues with gmail suddenly deciding that they don't like dxf files any longer so they aren't allowing them to be transferred fully intact which then leads to an error message in Sketchup.
I don't know why this has suddenly started happening for me, I just get "Import Failed" on screen when I import dxf files in exactly the way that I have done for years. I tried going back to SU2023 and the same happened there too. Has anyone got any suggestions as I'm in real trouble if I can't resolve this.
@FlawinneF I took the path of least resistance and removed PB4 and it worked. I only had the trial version so it's no bother for me to lose it.
@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich, if removing Profile Builder doesn't fix it for me then I'll reluctantly go through this somewhat laborious process
@FlawinneF I understood a small amount of what was said, but enough to put 2 and 2 together to understand that PB4 which has only recently been installed, is most likely to be the problem. Thank you.

Any thoughts?
Rename your Plugins to say ####Plugins to prevent it loading. Start SketchUp and a new Plugins folder will be created.
If it starts then you can safely say there's a conflict at play.
Then comes the narrowing down process......
Sorry, can you dumb that down to the lowest possible level for me please , I'm not sure what you're asking me to do.
My Sketchup has started behaving oddly this week, sometimes it just crashes within seconds of being started, I don't get past the welcome screen and it just bugsplats, but it doesn't do it every time. Any thoughts?
@TIG It's definitely installed correctly following me doing exactly as you described for 2023 version issues. It must either be the primary template I use for most projects (was fine in 2023), or that Sketchucation 4.2.9 is an unsupported extension and causing some kind of problem - that seems a bit of a stretch though.
Initially I assumed there was an issue with the model I was working on, but it's every model I'm working on: Model Info > Statistics > Purge Unused = crash.
@TIG Thanks for your collective wisdom folks, your efforts are appreciated.
@Dave-R I don't want to get too carried away with excitement, but I might have inadvertently fixed it (one trial pdf so far and it was fine), all I did was set Sketchup to use my Nvidia GPU rather than 'let windows decide' which seems to choose the weedy little native Intel GPU by default for some daft reason.
@TIG said in Upgraded PC but now can't export:
@grizzler Let's get @Dave-R [re]involved, he's better at Layout than me...
Consider the buck passed , unlucky @Dave-R , Tig has drawn the short straw for you
@grizzler Could any of this be caused by my programs being located on one SSD and my project files being on another? I can't imagine that's the problem but I'm desperately clutching at straws now.
@grizzler There's another issue I've just realised too, if I open a layout file from my old PC to save as a revised version of a project, it won't let me relink to the newer file version. I'm having a bit of a nightmare with this 🫤
