Does Move/Copy... the "ribbons" is on the pipeline ? PS How reuse the result of the explosion in the normal use of Sketchup? I can't copy something of the animation when I press "Space bar" for a temporary return to Sketchup! In fact I can but the animation itself is losted!

Daniel I agree that a configuration as you provided won't inference snap though similar ones will ! There is a way to find the true intersection of the edge and the arc that would sweep through the rotated end hole's center itself centered on the middle hole... Use my Tangent Tools script. Draw a cline through the desired edge and two concentric arcs [same radius] centered on the middle hole passing through the end hole to be rotated. Select the cline and both arcs. Those arcs will be too segmented to give an accurate intersection with the cline BUT the Tangent Tool > True Intersections will place cpoints at the two possible intersections on the cline and two additional cline guides from the arcs' center to these cpoints. It will also beep and report an error in the Ruby Console since the arcs are concentric and can't intersect with themselves... It's probably best to place the cline and two arcs into group of their own for easy erasure later... Simply use one of the cpoints to rotate the shapes about its central hole's center and snap to... This is convoluted BUT does give an accurate snap cpoint on the edge.[image: NGvj_inferenceonrotate.png]inferenceonrotate.skp

@daniel s said: What is Go? Go is a new experimental systems programming language intended to make software development fast. Daniel, why is this on topic? Will Go become available to write Sketchup plugins? Why a new language from a company that employs GvR? I was sort of hoping for <script type='text/python'>. Will we get type='text/go'?

It is possible to "construct" the shadows (as semitransparent faces) with Ruby, but with great tools like LightUp and Podium that work with SU, I don't think you'll see anything soon (though I could be wrong).

Hello to you all, I can see this technic develop in something great were you can draw on your desktop with a reflective tape stuck on your fingertips.(or IR reflective nailpolisch ) Or drawing on your dektop with a infrared-tip pen. Its looks to me like a very promising development. I could manipulating objects for example in sketchy physics with two hands. At last i could solve part of my mikado game. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=37b7a190d6d2a16dc5d54ad137209c7f Greetings Bep van Malde

I have just watched the clip and noted it was dated 29th May 2008. On the very same day I started a thread called SketchUp nameset workability in Google Sketchup Help, part of which went: "I am trying to find out whether sketchUp and ruby programming could be workable as a nameset device, and would be most grateful for your help... would it be possible ... to generate a sketchUp model from an array of names?" Scott actually answered my question simultaneously! But seriously I am begining to think Sketchup/Ruby API business could well be more significant than the birth of DOS was in its day. Chris

The puppet tool would be nic but you can get close by combining suanimate which is available @ ohyeahcad, the people who make podium. Combine this with ffd and you can do a lot of what you desire. Making it easy with a visual tool should be possible using these two scripts that are already developed.

Klaudius's k-tools.rb has long offered an 'L' command that's effectively a 'fillet'. You enter a radius and pick the edges (o radius extends/trims them at the same angle without a radius. However since this tool erases edges and replaces them with new shorter edges plus an arc you loose any faces... so I'd suggest that if the edges have a shared face then you draw the new arc and erase the then spare bits of edge that get left over - away from the arc circumference - so that the pre-existing face remains with its new perimeter... No need to reinvent the wheel just rework Klaudius's ideas ?

Anyways im off to reinstall sketchup and try the volume calculator again. Just reinstalled XP Pro.
