Got sidetracked again.........but had a little time this week. This is a very large house - an estate type adaptation of a flw plan from 1912. I really liked the scale / massing / siting and decided to play a little with it. I know that's blasphemy in some circles - but it really wanted it as an exercise to test some modeling/rendering techniques in su. [image: Y9tX_FLW_1912_sc-10A-comp.jpg]

Thanks for the feedback guys! Rclub24 - I had a 2D cad file that I generated from some pdf files found somewhere a while back on the web. Can't remember where exactly. A quick little update - finished the deck and changed the stone and wood siding materials. The others were too dreary / dull for my liking. I will post some more when I finish the site context around the house. Bytor [image: wb0B_KAHN-FISCHER_V7_TEST-C0MPOSITE.jpg]

Tobobo, The 4th isn't so much a day when reenactments occur in general - though you can find some related to colonial life at historic sites such as the local one linked here http://www.fortroberdeau.org/ The Civil War reenactors are usually pretty fanatical and typically only gather on the specific sites / dates of battles. A popular one is for Picket's Charge @ Gettysburg - which took place on July 3, 1863. The proximity to July 4th is why I made mention of Gettysburg in my original email. I have been there for a reenactment some years back - they have my respect as most all wear historically accurate full uniforms, which were wool. It is usually warm and very humid (High 90's and high humidity this year) then. Gettysburg was pivotal in the war and Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address which was delivered in November of that same year for the dedication of the "Soldiers National Cemetery" is a big part of American history. It is a good read - one which I wish today's politician's would refer to more often. Some links on Gettysburg you may find interesting are below. http://www.nps.gov/gett/index.htm http://www.gettysburgfoundation.org/ http://www.civilwarhome.com/gettysbu.htm http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Gettysburg_Address Bytor

Yeah I suppose there is a lot of stuff that isnt too great but people have to learn somewhere. I agree about constructive criticisms and that some people take much offense. I think its great I post on other forums just to get those type of responses. But its true a lot of people seem to post images of barely put together projects. I know im guilty of posting a lot but like somebody mentioned earlier the gallery should be too showcase work that the user wants to show off and is proud of. I wouldn't say its anywhere as bad as the 3D warehouse! that place is a mess but its not all bad at least its getting young people interested in 3D! But the whole car modding thing is a joke!!!! grrr I think its simple really, split the gallery to a work in progress section and then a finished images gallery. And if its possible have a small thumbnail section to show tiny images before you click on the post. But I dont know how difficult that would be, I hope its sorted out however! Hope you can split the gallery good luck with whatever you choose.

Thanks for the feedback guys - it really helps! Yes - these images are of just the poolhouse and pool/patio area that I have pulled out of the main house file so I could work on them more easily. I don't usually have things like backgrounds added while I am working on them. Dylan - plants are just edits to free things I have found on the web - most likely these were from the WH. The planter is from the mfg. Kornegy's collection on the WH. I do this as a hobby - so I don't have a lot of discretionary funds or I would buy both Solo and Tom's plants / trees. Scott - I will fix the coping on the pool, but good or bad I usually stay away from people if possible - hence the quality issue with the one @ the interior image. Just wanted a way to test the effectiveness of the striped etched glazing. I don't know if it works well enough for me - I might try something else. You are right in that the throw of the lights above the sink is too harsh. I will also be swapping them out with others, and will use ies files - they work well with Twilight Render. I can easily fix the tp lines before exported from SU. Thanks Again! Dean

I think you did a great job when rendering is concern. Without pp the images are little on the dark side. Keep up the good work.

Nice presentation, except in the last image I would move the SUV off to either side, rather than have it dominate the center.

Bytor, Nice render and the furniture looks good but you may want to rework the textures. There is quite a bit of tiling going on. Scott
