Jackalvn I don't recommend using the tapemeasure tool 'trick' on the unedited escalator because the handrails etc will scale and be too low. Edit the escalator's group. The central parts of the escalator are 'modular'. You can remove perhaps the upper 7 of these. Then move the top part of the escalator down, snapping it onto the corner of the topmost remaining 'module'. At this point the total rise on the escalator is about 9mm too small for what you want [4200mm] - as it is made for use in feet-and-inches NOT mm. Now use the Tapemeasure tool and pick 2 points to match the vertical height of escalator as currently modeled [~4191mm ?] and immediately type in 4200; answer 'Yes' and the group will scale so the escalator's height is now 4200mm. The few millimeters difference on the handrail height and the steps is not significant for a SUp model.

My drop152 has also stopped working. I can't seem to find the offending ruby. Also, the context menu is now almost completely un-useable. Ken

it's really hard to say what the problem is as i haven't experienced it even though i run SU on inferior ppc hardware.. fwiw, SU was originally written on pre intel macs so no, it's not only meant to run on intel macs.

Are you actively seeking to open 0.skb? If so, the .skb file extension is the sketchup backup file, not the working file, which is .skp I believe you already know this, so--pardon my repetition above. I have had similar problems but primarily with a usb storage device which either was running out of capacity or which had some other undefinable problem. But you are talking about file use between two computers. My GUESS is that the file should reside completely on the machine you are using, and you should save your work on the machine you are using. Then, if you wish to update the file in the original machine, you should then save a copy of the file to the original machine. Again, this is just a GUESS. Could someone else confirm?

Nice! I bought almost all of them. If possible it would be nice to also have the photos used, as a complement to the drawn ones.

And note the most other modelling apps doesn't have the type of viewport presentation as SU does. They usually display much cruder mesh and leave all presentation for the rendering part. While SU display presentation graphic straight into the viewport.

@unknownuser said: In trying to figure this out I learned a new trick. If you right click on the material in the materials browser you can Select (all of that material). After it is selected you can repaint them with the proper material all in one click. Does that do it for you? Thanks for your reply MuseumMaker! Mh... doesn't seem to work on my Mac - I found this brilliant script "Material Replacer" from thomthom which sort of helps. You can pic a material and then pick another one which will replace the first one in all instances. Still this requires to know which one you want to replace in the model which is a bit frustrating when all of them look the same So far it is the best solution I found. Still a little ruby that would let me do the same thing the material replacer does in the material library would be brilliant...

@unknownuser said: Hi, The sidewards 'S' or ~ is telling you that you're actual measurment is less than what you read in the VCB. For example, let's say your model units is set to millimeters with a precision of 0.1mm. Therefore SU will only allow to draw in increments on 0.1mm. Now you draw a line 11.6mm in lenght the scale that line by a value that would result in it been 11.56mm in lenght. Now because your precision is at 0.1mm it will read it at ~11.6mm but not 11.5mm If you change your precision in 'Model Info' it will find the lines exact lenght. I think i'm right but i'm not 100% Hi Rich "I look but I didn't see" should be my motto, how embarrassing. Instead of my question 'sideways S' all I had to do was press '~ #' key! Thanks for explaining that, I know now I won't be making terrible mistakes. I've learnt the hard way before. John

Hi TIG, Thanks for your reply. I had to scale it afterwards as I don't think it was drawn right when it was done in Max (I didn't create it) Will this scale definition enable me then to edit the model?

Yes, I also have SU 6 installed (and separately licensed). Then I also have SU 7.0 and 7.1 separately installed, too (although their licensing is not separate). So you can have a whole bunch of versions installed separately and you can even run them together if you wish. Note that if you double click on an skp file (and launch SU this way) it will always try to launch the version you saved anything in last. Also note that while you can open SU 6 files in SU 7 (and even "save as..." a v.6 file), you cannot open a v.7 file in SU 6. I think that's all.

Hi Yahia, Here is the topic of the plugin (attached to the bottom of the first post in a ZIP file): http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=8116 To tell the truth, I do not know what it is doing so you will need to discover yourself.
