I am guessing here, and most probably will get corrected: If this was a circle extruded into a drum, I will bet that the circle is a closed curve, you did some outline with Tools on Surface to generate the eyebrow, then did perhaps a Joint PushPull to project it which sent some spurious signals to the program "behind the curtains". It interrupted its connection with the curve. Wrong? Oh, well.

Found a solution. Uninstall of sketchup needs to be more detailed than just dragging the app to the trash. Here's the link that explains the procedure in detail: http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=40937

There some changes I still want to make on both of the plugins, so for now they will remain private.

Check out ThomThom's 'Cleanup' and 'Plan Tools' plugins. I think they would help for this.

@gaieus said: Ifyou installed it correctly, go to Window > Preferences > Extensions and activate it with its checkbox. Restart SU and find it under Tools > Fredo collection or rather activate its toolbar from View > Toolbars. Gaieus, Thanks for the tips!!! Jud

zetavares852 I do think specific light emitting materials are needed?? Out side my knowledge base but some renders have the capability to set the Illuminace of the mesh on or off? That common thread maybe worth some check?

It depends upon how you drew the staircase, If it is a component or group, open it for editing and select all of the geometry. Then get Scale and do the scaling operation. This won't have any effect on the material scaling. If you drew the treads and risers as components separate from the stringers, You won't want to scale the entire staircase anyway. This would change the thickness of the stringers. In that case you would want to Move a stringer and then adjust the tread and riser components separately. You could open the components and use Scale, Move or possibly Push/Pull for that. None of those modifications would affect the material. I think this is a common issue for folks because they can scale a group or component without opening it for editing. There are some applications for that but more often, it is the geometry that should be getting scaled.

Well, maybe. If you go anywhere else than the home page, there are articles from TDC in the sidebar.

Thanks a lot guys. The load method is just what I was looking for. Here's what I've written in the first file and it works: require 'sketchup.rb' def drawc load 'cubegrid2.rb' include Cubegrid drawgrid end UI.menu("Plugins").add_item("cubegrid") { drawc } Every time I call cubegrid from the Plugins menu, it reloads the cubegrid2.rb file and executes its main method, drawgrid, from the module Cubegrid. I realize that the function names aren't very descriptive and quite uninspired, but that's not important and the moment . Again, thanks for the help.

Thanks Dave, That makes total sence! Now that I think of it a lower Res output would be better anyway as I was going for a rough look anyway. The other test Image you helped me with in the corner bar area has a bit too much "clean line feel" because I made the image large and reduced it, I'll export it much smaller next time for the "real" sketch. Thanks again for your advise a bit of enlightenment is always welcome.

I've an ATI card and can confirm a poor relationship with SU A recent driver really screwed things up. It's not the most powerful card I use but my desktop runs a nVidia silky smooth. My issues are with selecting. The workspace flickers when making a selection, sometimes even blacking out until releasing mouse button. If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear them also.

Yes, exactly. Like in the example above where standalone edges were grouped separately from the mesh itself. THEN they get exported displayed.
