I've used Selection Toys for a while (new V2.2 is out, which I have not yet installed) I keep "Entity Info" dialog open at all times in the upper right of screen. ABOVE it is a simple Selection Toys toolbar, where I have just a few icons I use the most, that is: Select Lines, Faces, Groups, Components, Hidden, Soft, Smooth, as well as deselect same list.

I watched this video on youtube of Chronolux 1.2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE6Zc5jqhbc It was so close to what I wanted that it made me laugh in a "did they just read my mind?" kind of way. The different colors, and the example with a contour looking map made my eyes pop! Thank you Chris for pointing me towards this plugin. I really could not have asked for a better answer.

I had a similar 'plight' with a design I was creating for a very large model of a bespoke hospitality (tensile/inflatable) structure being built on the beach at Cannes - the model was constructed in SKP to show a beautiful pitch render (to the MS client) via Lightup, as well as serve as technical layouts, construction details, and work-in-progress sign-off scamps in Layout. The necessary additional detail/model (including glowing inflatable cell-structure) size was killing my renders (and my soon to be updated PC), so I came to the state of breaking the model down and 'sub-render' (eg the exhibition zone) elements. Sketchup & Lightup work brilliantly - it is just the scale of my designs that sometimes get in the way!! I would concur and suggest 'pretty house' and 'real house' models! There are limits with all of this. Good luck with it!

Hello again and thanks for your comments, Elisei was right - some lines inside the group where on a different layer than the group itself. After editing the lines towards the group layer, erasing worked as usual. I don`remember to have a similar problem before. Anyway, the layer status should have no influence, if a line is erasable or not. thomthom , thanks for looking into it. I tried to reproduce this conflict but so far i wasn`t successful on this matter. I will post the model, as soon as I have a similar case Thanks again, Uli

Ken, I did this on my XP machine and used Snagit 10 for the capture. I've been testing Captiva on my Win 7 machine. It'll do higher res video and has a video editor built in. Snagit has done a decent job, though. I tried a number of freeware and very low cost screen capture apps but they had problems keeping video and audio synchronized. I think I'll have to find my own "that" for the next Basecamp. That's a great idea.

Thanks, that is perfect. Our plugin's installer doesn't look for SU 2013 so users not wanting to use our beading edge developer release can't easily use 2013 (without hand moving files). Having the SU 8 link is good solution.

Thanks to both of you! can't believe I've been using su for so long and didn't notice the segment count. anyway, I extended the lines and then used stray lines to select and delete the edges - guess thats the best it gets and thats not too bad thanks again
