The problem is VRay. The latest version of VRay is not compatible with the latest version of SketchUp. That's why the software crashes. It will take from 1 to 3 weeks before a compatible version of VRay will be released. This is absurd. Why releasing an update of Sketchup if not compatible with VRay? At least, the risk of problems after the update should be mentioned. Considering that I have SketchUp both on my laptop and IMac, and considering that I want to keep the latest version of sketch up on my laptop, is it possible to install Sketchup 8 on my iMac with the same licence? Is it possible to have one licence and install two different versions (SU 2013 and SU of SketchUp on two different machines without creating conflicts? Thank you. I.

You could do this in any of several ways. One way would be to draw a cross section of the table with the radius and use Follow Me to sweep the shape around a circle (or arc)). Another way would be to draw the profile on the back edge of the top and again use Follow Me to sweep the profile around. If kind of depends upon what you've already got drawn.

Like this? [image: sTGE_U.png] I drew an arc with 32 segments and a couple of straight lines off that to use as a path for Follow Me. I put a default 24-sided circle at one end of the path and ran Follow Me. Done. Looks pretty smooth to me, anyway.

Whether or not that has an impact on the operation, you should install the most current version of Shape Bender. You should keep all plugins up to date.

Thanks TIG, I tried those out but didn't work. After an hour looking and continually updating my Lumion model I discover it was attached to the ground floor wall component. I exploded it and re created the group now its gone. Pretty weird, haven't had that happen before especially when it wasn't on outliner as well.

Could you post an example model in which that happens?

Hi everyone, Thank you for your responses. Scott gave me some insight on how to construct the equiangular spiral manually, in segments. It's tedious, but works very well to create the desired shape. Thank you, Scott! In the meantime, I found the Spirix plugin, which can generate true LOG10 conical spirals, among many other shapes, very quickly. https://sites.google.com/site/spirixcode/home It has a lot of interesting parameters to generate complex coils, twists, etc., with mathematical precision.

The menus are indeed not very customizable. And all what plugins could do about it (better nothing) would be more hacky than manually editing the files. One could either load less plugins from start (only on demand) or adopt to some toolbars. Unused toolbars can be hidden, whereas menus can't. there are also several custom toolbar plugins (Jim's, Rick's and mine). The last resort if you can't find anything is a menu/toolbar search like LaunchUp.

@Catnkar12 when in finder use command j or go to View in the title bar and choose Show View Options. If you don't want it to show all the time go to Go in title bar and when mouse hovers over Go is selected hit the option key.

Thanks for the response. Most flat map projections of the earth are unusual projections. Such as mercator or divided near the poles at the latitude lines. But, yes global maps with cities are pretty easy to come by. I've attached a good one for the use. Can you point me in the direction of wrapping it on a sphere? Funny thing is that I would think that this is quite common - such as news bureaus would need a global 3d map with cities. But I guess most of those use google earth now.
