Creating Arrays

I know how to create an array on the horizontal and vertical plane. But how does one do it along the circumference of an object, the perimeter of an rectangle, and any other regular/irregular shape?

For a circular array you do the same with the Rotate tool as you would with the Move tool. Spend some time with the help files.
