Are you talking about textures? There are plugins to modify them... (e.g. SketchUV, Thrupaint, ...)

@tig said: Are the 'lines' really there ? Do you ever get to select them for deletion, or do they appear and vanish at will ? If they are not 'real', then is it then a graphics-card issue ?? What is your GC? Does it have the latest drivers loaded? What are your Preferences > OpenGL settings? Have you try adjusting these and retesting to see if that resolves this issue ? I can't speak for the problem above, but since mine seems similar... The lines were really there, but when you select and delete them they become blue (selection) and won't delete. They stay blue, impossible to "unselect" nor do any other action. It is as if the don't exist anymore, but are still visible. I had the thing with my old "standard" video card as well as with my new HD7870 Joker card... It hasn't happened since SketchUp 2013 though.

FYI PMs will remain in your Outbox until the recipient reads them, then they go into the Sent folder. That way you know when it's not been read yet... remember other members have to sleep, eat and shop etc, and can be in significantly different time-zones from you, so you cannot always expect an instant response... Back to the issue... In Context-menu > Properties > Security... for the selected 'Components' folder [and for the Plugins, Materials and Styles folders next...] Edit & Apply Set Read/Write permissions to FULL for everyone that you can. Then use... Advanced>Owner Set the owner of the folder to be 'admin', also ensure the changes filter down to change all contents to match [there is a check-box]. Do not have it set for the folder you are changing to take its permissions from its containing folder [SketchUp~] as this will confuse things... Also set 'SketchUp.exe' to 'always run as administrator' in Properties > Compatibility...

hi, thanks for your help! Yes, i'm drawing the rectangle (as example, i have the same issue with all 2D items), then i'm moving to the box, edit the size (without removing the semicolon or the unit) then pressing enter, but nothing happens. it's the same way i did on the previous version of sketchup, and it always worked. The issue is only on the new 2013 version, i still have v8 on the same machine but it's working fine. I'm using the english version for both, i'm not native english but it's easy for me using the same language of the tutorials.

Look into TIG's COORDTAG.rb tool. Set to some geo-location, you also get the co-ords of each tree, and his latest update to the file allows sequential labeling/numbering as well. http://sketchucation.com/resources/pluginstore?pln=coordstexttagtoolfromdatum

As Rich says - provided the RBZ comes from a 'reliable' source [like SketchUcation, Smustard, Trimble etc] then you should be able to trust its 'integrity' and install it without worrying one iota. All installed plugins RB/RBS files will have the ability to access files and folders on your computer, and even add/change/delete data - but that's just how plugins work ! SketchUp is covering its back with this message, which effective says, "Because you are adding this Plugin using our installer, please be aware that it will have the potential to do things to your computer..." - so it's then your informed choice... not theirs. So unless your RBZ is from a 'suspect source' don't worry about it. Downloading plugins from an Aryan-Race or Muslim-Brotherhood web-site is not recommended... Just be sensible in what you do... Indeed, I could write a simple .RBS plugin in a few minutes, that you could download and install manually [and therefore without the RBZ installer warnings], which will then do some legitimate task day-in day-out, but which also acts like a Trojan - deleting all of your plugin-files [and itself] [or even worse!] every Friday 13th! BUT of course I don't, and neither will any of the dedicated group of plugin-authors, who give much of there work to you freely or at least inexpensively... We must trust in people's overwhelmingly good nature and honesty in such situations - we can't be paranoid [even when 'they' are out to get us ] - it is the way to a world I don't want to be part of...

Thanks Tig - I think the file types changed during a bugsplat and I re-set them and it seems to be (mostly) working.

I donn't know Podium, so only my first impressions: one bench seem to float in the air there are only sharp edges, some bevels would help to increase realism the ground in the reference image seems to be much more reflective

A DC Component may have three different names. Definition-name Instance-name [optional] DC-name You can edit these using the Component Browser, Entity Info and DC Editor respectively... You might also need to do this to nested DC parts too? Note how a Group that is part of a DC is similar, but its Definition-name remains pretty well hidden and inaccessible, except via the API, but then only its Group-name [a Group is an Instance of a special kind of Definition] is relevant anyway...

It appears, by just using Cleanup3, you may be able to get rid of annoying blue lines.

It's funny, I don't remember the 2013 change, but I'm sure I'll always remember the 2023 one! The new icons are terrible, for all the reasons U. Paar states. I've been using them for a year already, and still find them significantly harder to find in the toolbar because they are smaller and are all so similar. Plus they are just graphically inferior. I do use shortcuts, but only for the 20 or so tools and commands I use most regularly. The irony is that the native tool icons used to be more legible than most of those those created by plugin developers, but now it's the opposite. This really seems like an unnecessary own goal by the graphics team. Mark
