@tig said: I can now see the 'angle' is the now-cut-slab viewed obliquely. So PushPull should work, provided that you have drawn real lines on the face within the component/group so as to divide it into parts before doing the 'push'... Guides will never split a face. Lines drawn on the outside of a container [group/component] will never split a face within. Either redraw the lines within the container, or select the lines that are in the wrong context, Edit>Cut then edit the container and Edit>PasteInPlace - now these newly added lines should split up the face they land on inside the container - it's now ready to PushPull........... We seem to be making heavy weather of what turns out to be a simple task Thank you Tig.

Edges can be hidden in solid components, just as well as other situations, if you want.

It looks to me as if the texture ought to be about 24" square but since it's not seamless and there's little texture to it anyway, you could just use it at any size that prevents it from tiling. Or, I'd just use a flat color to match and not bother with that texture. It seems to me that it would just add file size with little benefit. The other images there are neat if you need little tiny patches of wood but they'd be awful for most projects.

Thanks! I figured it was just something I was overlooking. Been doing similar interactions on a couple of models lately, and had that working on one set of doors but not the other. When I got the bad behavior to happen in a model of just a set of doors done from scratch, it really had me scratching my head.

[image: 349732727295659055] Vanishing Point Filter tools export Vpe files to Sketchup - Creates 3d models https://www.pinterest.com/pin/349732727295659055/ any grid(s) created in vanishing point can be exported in VPE format - Vanishing point exchange - the export results in a series of files - a geometry data file and a rectified png image for each grid created. This Vanishing Point export option is the reverse of the the process of pasting a rectified image on the clipboard into any grid perspective plane drawn . Example Russel Brown video " Ribbon of Perspective" shows the process of pasting an image into vanishing point grid and the image can be move between perspective grids and non perspective while maintaining the same scale factor. apply VPE export to his file will give the reverse process - perspective grids will be exported as rectified grids. The rectified grids can be imported into skectchup to create a 3d Model rVanishing point option import option can be used to transfer grids a complete 3d Model - only skectup problem is the axis point in sketchup has to be changed. Exporting and rectifying Vanishing Point Grids -, VPE format - has not got a tutorial on this feature- Why? the information is only discussed on Photoshop (Vanishing point grids exchange) and affect effects. Vanishing point export tools can be exported as 3d model - even transfer to photoshop 3d app. or Skectchup Summary: photoshop perspective grids can be exported as scaled rectified image files - duplcating the Phot Match feature in trimble sketchup Research Photoshop vpe file and other 3d model formats.

@tig said: But didn't he suggest that the latest driver might be the culprit. if I understood Ulis @atelierpaar said: I updated several times - but it doesn`t make any difference. correct, the error message was already shown before the driver was updated. If not he may of course try rolling back to a working version. Norbert

If nothing else works you could try to run this in the Ruby console: Sketchup.send_action 10624 [image: 10115-pasted-from-clipboard-png] A bit down from the middle there is Near, Far and Force That lets you set the clipping planes manually. Beware that this is not an "official" Camera settings panel so be sure to make a backup if you use it. Also you may have to run it again to uncheck/reset this Force clipping planes after.

All the solutions that we have come across redraw the SU model in another program. I really thought that with the on-line version they would have come up with something sooner. I can't believe this was 7 years ago. It must be complicated with a major stumbling block otherwise one of the DC guys would be on it like a shot, a big market in my eyes. Good luck with your models.

This reminds me of Michelle Morelan's work: http://schematiclife.blogspot.com/ She uses hand sketches with pencil and marker, and sometimes a Sketchup model as an underlay. 23 min tutorial: http://vimeo.com/groups/2Danimation/videos/13479536

I don't know of a checklist per se but it shouldn't be too difficult. where are your materials and components located for SU8? Are they under SketchUp's Materials and Components folders? If so, you can either link to those local collections where they reside or copy them to SU2013's folders or even put them somewhere else. Then just use Open or Create a Local Collection from the Details menus followed by Add to Favorites from the same menus. The only content you should avoid copying directly would be plugins. Download fresh copies of the plugins you use. Regarding your component issue, as I wrote before, the materials used on the component are part of the component's SKP file and do not depend upon the original texture file's library location. If it did, it would be similar to Microsoft Word which depends upon the viewer having the same font as the author or the document for proper viewing. SketchUp files are more like PDFs in that fonts are embedded in PDF files.
