Ye what Gilles has posted is pretty similar except the line will generally go from one side to another (not necessarily opposit side, may wind around the face and go to the side on the left for example). Rather than being a loop enclosed in the face. Thanks for the help, I was expecting an email to let me know about replies, sorry for the delay. I'll have a go at what you said and see what happens. I'd say I'll have more questions!!

SketchUp is primarily a 3D modeller. As such when you draw a rectangle on the ground plane as in your example, the expectation is that you'll make that 3D and so it places the outside or front face down. The blue faces is expected to become the inside of the bottom of the 3D shape. There's nothing wrong with that.

Sounds like you need to look at your Safari [or other Browser] settings... and you Decompression app's settings too. Many Extensions will download as RBZ archives [just like the SketchUcation PluginStore toolset]. These are effectively a ZIP archive with a different filetype-suffix. This needs to be simply downloaded into your Downloads folder: intact with the RBZ suffix etc... Then you'll need to open SketchUp and use the SketchUp > Preferences > Extensions > Install.. button and select the RBZ archive and everything is installed for you automatically... Thereafter you should be able to use the submenu items and toolbar tools the SketchUcation PluginStore toolset has set up...

Ok I understand, but if you open the file, rather than stick it in your component library and bring it in as a component, it is an open component.

Thanks! It helps me a lot to automate my proces. I use the plugin Comp2Layer2Scene in combination with MakeOrthoView. Every part of the assembly is a layer and a scene, named like this: partnumber-partname With the code I can make partlist in excel in a short time. Thanks again to TIG

Hi Barry Thanks a ton for the link and the guidance. I have downloaded the tool but can't figure out how to set up the two options for the middle button state. (Please pardon my dumb IQ! . Could you (or anyone) please guide on what should be the settings ...? Help would be greatly appreciated and yes, I do intend buying a beer & cookies for the author, he truly needs a big donation to bring out a product like that. Someone kindly help. Thanks !!! Ar. @unknownuser said: SU2013 license will that work with SU8? The SU2013 Pro license number won't turn a SU8 into Pro. Everything else has been answered, Norbert's suggestion is probably the best you can do.

Thank you, gentlemen. All these styles have 10 lines in each of seven different lengths so there's some good variety in the lines. For those who might not know this, the appearance of a given style can be changed quite dramatically. Under the Styles Edit tab, you can adjust the parameters. Use the slider to adjust how much detail, adjust the length of extensions and so on. You can also change the appearance of a style by changing the size of the image export. For example in the image below, I've overlapped three images using the same line style. The only change I made was to the export size. In my image editor I resized the larger images to the size of the screen-size export. [image: hbre_Massingcomparison.png] It's also easy to create different line weights. In the image of the cabinet, I made an image export at screen size with Edges unticked and Profiles ticked. Then I made a second export at 4000 pixels wide with Edges ticked and Profiles unticked. The larger image was resized and pasted onto a layer set to "Multiply" in the image editor. It's a very quick and simple process which adds more variety to the style. [image: ONdH_cabinet.png]
