OK, thanks. In fact, I do have QT - only I disabled its plugin function because no matter what I set, it always "wants" to play all file types which I hate (why is any program so agressively take over my file associations?). Anyway, enabling the plugin let me see the video, thanks.

Hi August, the admin's have not mentioned it, but the tutorial section is undergoing a major update. All tutorials have been offline for a few days, and now they are coming back online, but they are all being processed into a new format by hand, which will take some time. But the idea that the new format wiil be significantly easier for the authors to use (thus hopefully equalling more tutorials being made). So I too am seeing the messed up code. I am guessing that it will all get fixed in a few days. Try checking tutorials.sketchucation.com for the newly adapted tutorials (though I don't know if any are migrated to the new site yet). But keep checking there for the newly adapted tutorials, Chris PS Glad to know you were trying to look at my tutorial I have plans for more to come!

@andeciuala i saw your other tutorials in youtube (vray exterior for sketchup) and it's great..! altough it could use some planning beforehand, and some better english (lol) but it's very useful nonetheless to learn about bumps, transparent materials and displacements.. two thumbs up dude..!

Very nice and easy tutorial. Thank you very much. I'm tackling with some maps right now, where I can make good use of it (Maps for some RPG Supplements).

I've written a beginning Ruby tutorial. Since I'm very new to Ruby, its all still very fresh in my mind what I needed to learn to get started writing scripts for SketchUp. So I tried to put all into a simple tutorial. This includes pre-script writing info, like where to find the necessary info, what text editor to use, how to test code inside of SU, and then I write a script and explain what all the code does. This is all in about 10 pages. So its short and very direct (unlike this post). So check it out. See if it helps. It shows how to write a code that iterates through all geometry in the model and make an array that holds all the edges, one for the faces, one for the components, and one for groups. So all you would need to do is to take one of those arrays (I'll use the faces array I made in the example below) and do something like: entities.erase_entities faces Hope that helps. Feel free to post over in the Ruby forum once you get into the coding and have direct questions about it. Hope that helps, Chris

The kml is simply the placemark (co-ordinates and such) for the GE model. There should be some further folders inside for the model file (*.dae) and the texture images.
