    Hello,
    I would like to draws screws for a mechanical system.
    I found the screw_21.rb that allow me to draw the basic shape, but I can't finish the screw with a flat face (as in a normal stainless screw.
    I tried to make en intersection with a disk, but it doesn't not work.
    can someone help me please ?

    Do a Forum Search [look at the top right of the screen] for Screw Tutorial, it returns 23 hits - although the first one is of no use because it's a tutorial for a dome and 'screw up' is used in the sense of 'to mess up', the remainder are probably what you are looking for...

    Yes ! I have missed this one in speedy pressing "No's Buttons" and want to make publicity for ThomThom tools 😆
    And this can be post production 😉

    PS can you consider the 4 curves (2 profiles + 2 rails )of the EEbR as a Coons creator surface or it's another thing?

    This is very easy..make a component then make a copy ,mirror it(flip along or scale it with -1) and place it near the other one.
    I actually thought this may offend u ,being too simple.. 😳

    Ah! Just one of those things I never learned... I'd always finish 1/2 the model and then copy/flip, but the method you show gives a much more clear sense of proportion.

    Thanks!

    (maybe this could go in the "DUH! aka D'oh!" thread?)

    I even have some customized right-click context-menu scripts of my own [very short and simple] that Invert-Select, Erase-Coplanar-Edges, De-Select-Edges, De-Select-Faces, Add-Faces-to-Edges etc which are even quicker than using a menu item...

    I have received some negative comments about this post like:

    @unknownuser said:

    It'd be really useful if you were trying to recreate Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield or similar...

    Just kidding - I'm sure it may come in handy at some point and will try it out!

    @unknownuser said:

    his is a terrible idea. By associating the position of the lights with the camera instead of the scene you would make your lighting arbitrary and probably ugly. Learn to light the scene correctly - there is no shortage of information on the subject out there.

    and

    @unknownuser said:

    everything in the scene needs to be addressed separately in order for your scene to be successfully lit.

    I still think that some scenes, especially by beginning (or perhaps lackadaisical) renderers, can be easily improved with some camera oriented lighting. But maybe the is a lot to be said for learning how to position lights well.

    You can see the 'final' image in the House and Pool thread (using Miguel's logs, I didn't see your component here 'til just now. 😢

    Oh, and Chris, you can add &fs=1 to the video embed code to allow fullscreen playback. This solves the problem with smaller monitors. The resulting code woud be:
