Polylines are NOT a SUp entity.
You can 'Weld' some lines into curves and retry the export... BUT, if it's not a continuous 'curve' in the SKP it ain't going t become one in the DWG!

It is also possible to force movement along a particular axis by holding down the appropriate arrow key while moving.

I was just thinking about searching for this little trick the other day, I remembered reading it somewhere, but couldn't remember how to do it! Thanks!

Your tutorials are always so clear and helpful..really nice work!

Its pretty much about finding an image with the correct lighting for the snow. After that its a combination of cloning and distorting, copying parts around the image and blending them together. But if you dont have the correct lighting it will become very obvious very quickly.

What you need to do is find images that have the same colour sky as the sky in the render. This way,not only will you have the correct lighting, but also the correct radiosity colour on your inserted elements.

when will the training sessions start? will the users get pdf files [ebooks kinda] for lessons? What is the fees of these courses?

Good questions. I need to advanced my skills faster than just the self teaching I've been doing and would sincerely like to be a student of this group, which I consider some of the best in the world.

But of course, the devil is in the details.

why not just do 3dmax and Vray. rather than importing the max file to sketchup.

This really isn't a Sketchup tutorial per se but it is very relevant for Sketchup users who want to utilize the power of ZBrush to paint/texture their models.

I used Sketchup Pro to export the OBJ file that was used in this demo -- but if you have another OBJ exporter plugin it should work just as well... and of course when you are done you can just import the OBJ back into Sketchup using one of the import plugins.

Sorry Pixbae, I only just spotted your question.

Follow Me is one of the basic tools that comes with SU. As I've already said, this tutorial doesn't use any plugins...that's why it's called vanilla flavoured.
This is the problem with Pilou's approach; if you don't even know what Follow Me is, then for the sake of your own learning curve, if nothing else, you shouldn't be going anywhere near Ruby scripts. Learn the basics first. You'll then have a much better understanding of which plugin to use when...and how you can fix it if things go wrong.

The diamond pattern is produced by simply drawing diagonals across all the quads, in a diamond pattern.

Yes...simple maths. The torus had 72 segments, because that was the number of segments on the circle being followed by the template in scene 1. I reduced it to 2 segments...so it's obviously going to take another 35 copies of that double segment to remake the complete circle.

Those little chevron-shaped faces are common with Follow Me when you run a profile around an arc of the same or smaller radius.

Here is my way to avoid this:
