    Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    I think it's the "normal" text tool. Generally you cannot export that as it's not vector (or texture) info at all. 3D Text is different as it is "real" geometry so there's no difference between it and any other geometry like a house of a plant.

    Yes it's a tricky edge to deal with. To date Pilou's solution is the most clean and customizable.

    With SU 6, there were some problems with certain images inserted in Mac not showing up on PC (this was due some RGB channel and EXIF info issue) but even those didn't crash the app just the images didn't show (I think it's been fixed in SU 7). Other than that, I haven't had experiences with such behaviour either (although you never know).

You can also resize the resolution. I can imagine that these image files have some thousands of pixels side wise. Note that SU won't display better resolution than 1024 pixels (or 2048 pixels if "Use large texture" is set in preferences) anyway so any image bigger than that is useless but taxing your system.

    It wasn't the 3d warehouse dialog, but a webdialog I put together with some small functions for a specific task. One of the tasks was selecting and replacing a whole lot of instances. The dialog went away after I wrapped some of my functions in start_operation/commit_operation.

    Hey, i found the problem - whenever i search for a key word in the shortcut - it doesn't find it, when i input the location of the actual menu it doesn't see it either, but when i put the first letter of a word in the plugin it shows only one function of the plugin (rotate around blue, rotate around red, rotate around green)...it shows up when I put the word re in the search menu, but nothing else works. its a bit odd. I wonder why that is?

    As lucifer says, select the column->ctrl+x->go in to the component you want the column in->edit->paste in place

    Autodesk also has the free TrueView application that besides having almost all the viewing and printing functionality of full AutoCad can convert newer DWG files to older (even very old) formats. There is a link (the "DWG From Autodesk" button)to the download on the main Autodesk webpage. Anssi

    Thanks for the tips, although it seems the Style window does not use standard Windows dialog boxes (which I suppose it's why it's one I can't do alt+space m on, which works for the others). Damn!

    The Idea to find a solution for the construction of roads on an terrain within Sketchup does not let me off. I saw in the Forum some nice terrains created by Vue or any other 3D software. But i did not yet see any with inserted models and the accompanying Streets or Roads on a sloped and curved terrain in Sketchup excepted in other 3D software (see example pictures below). Also most of architectural works in Sketchup are done on flat 2D grounds. Ore am i wrong. When i found this "Anadelta Tessera" program, the idea came to me to generate a points cloud file from a Sketchup terrain for studying the road construction in that program. Because till now i couldn't find a Points Cloud ASCII sample file for download. It is perhaps a creazy idea. I hope I do not bore you with my ideas.
