how can i convert 3ds files into sketchup application files.

I s there anybody who thinks they could make a 3d model of this pier for me?
it would be a great help, as the driving dimensions tool is screwing me up.

but i cant find it, am i doing something wrong
and how do i get this 3d model into sketchup?

Where can I find some free 3d models, like chairs, etc.
I have found the following sites but i'm not sure if they are free, does anybody know?
