@gaieus said: I see it's driving everyone nuts. It's definately driving me nuts! She keeps changing direction even as I look at her. She goes 270deg clockwise and then maybe a couple of twirls counter and back again, plus every time she faces me she is laughing at my confusion. Therefore I cannot vote, please give us confused no-brainers a third choice Cheers from Bill on holiday in Wine Country. (Central Otago)

Hi Guys, I was thinking that there would be some 'SU old timers' hoping that Grant would jump on-board. I'll email this link to him so he can gauge the size of his fan club Mike PS: For any of the Newbies that don't know about Grant. http://www.marshallarts.co.za/

I am currently in Texas with my daughter visitig my mother and stepfather. We went to Sea World yesterday and my daughter actually wanted to ride the biggest coaster. She is 7. Needless to say she got very scared but after the ride and after a bit of crying she said: "Let's do it again!" We sat in the second row of seats. She did not want to be in front. Here is the beast we rode: http://www.4adventure.com/SWT/ar_steel_eel.aspx http://www.coasterphotos.com/SWOT/images/SAENeel2.jpg

Thanks for the encouragement. I have lost some more weight but it is much slower now. Being on vacation is not that difficult as am at my mother's house and she stocked whatever I wanted. However when we took my daughter to Sea World yesterday, well we had to eat right? That chili dog did not do me too well but at least I stayed with the water all day.

Yes Juju, but I already had a Google account when tried first. Anyway, there is the solution. Still you cannot edit your post there.

I especially like the reply at the bottom of the page: @unknownuser said: achille Says: it looks like an Ikea.

I would second the DataCAD recommendation, unless you want the familiarity of the AutoCAD commands and layout. It takes some getting used to but is worth more than the price you pay. It has a small but very knowledgeable and rabid fan base and some great forums. Besides that, you can always email the owner fo the company directly and he will usually respond to you or put you in touch with someone at the company to help you out. I used it when i first started my own Architectural firm to save on startup costs. Otherwise, AutoCAD LT is pretty much the way to go, IMHO. If you are doing Architecture, you will find the Real Architect add-on program very helpful.

@unknownuser said: @passuby said: I am going too order this too. Is there any other books anyone else would recommend? The books by Bonnie Roskes are very good http://www.f1help.biz/ccp51/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F8241477&rnd=6654062&rrc=N&affl=&cip=212.56.70.117&act=&aff=&pg=cat&ref=SU And several by Insitebuilders http://insitebuilders.com/training.htm The insite builders' books are pretty neat. very informative as well. I love Bonnie's books as well, but sometimes it's like reading stereo instructions . Dang engineers...

Interesting topic with lots of ideas pouring in. Even so, as I scan down the page, if the preceding post had an image, my thought process would have flowed smoothly into it. So, I think we should encourage posting of screen shots, so that basic information is visually available in the forum page itself. Downloading and opening attachment would be for getting more detailed insight or saving the file. Think convenience and saved bandwidth. Sorry to be off topic, but relevant nonetheless, IMHO. Guite

It sounds like you have access to GIS software if you're using .shp files, am I right? If so, have you tried ArcScene? I've had decent results using SU to create my 3D structures and bringing them in as symbols. Let me know if this is the case and I can dig up a link to the workflow I used. Where in Phoenix? I lived there for a long time and did a lot of work in the utilities biz.

After being a partner in an architect-firm I started seven years ago on my own, as an architect/consultant; designing and realisating mostly leisure projects of all kind and size in most countries of Europe. All kinds of projects, large and small, in- and exterior, mostly the conceptual phases, architectural designs, presentations etc. Because I am a one-man consultant/architect company ,I have to be able to do every aspect of my work by myself and SU helps a lot. The first key is sales...someone has to contact and sell the idea to the companies. Finding competent modelers would be the easy part. I think this would be an excellent opportunity for an "educated" salesman. I found this very interesting when a client sent me the link a few months ago. Sweets has been slowly dying for years because of the internet, now the internet(Google) partners with them...? (Wonder what will evolve? :`)
