Has anybody any experience with 3D animation softwares (freewares)? I would like to create simple animations by using my Sketchup models. In this forum there was some discussion about Blender, but some people say that Blender is really complicated to use. I have been using Kerkythea for rendering my models and I think that you can export animations from Blender to Kerkythea, am I right?

I have also heard that Bryce 5.5 and TrueSpace 3.2 are quite ok in creating animations. If somebody has experience with these softwares or similar ones, please give some comments!

      Miikka,

Now you can export your animation from SU to Kerky, as well (though I haven't done that so far). Make sure you have the latest version of Kerky as well as the SU2KT plugin.

Thank you for your repply Gaieus.

Am I also able to move the objects when creating animation with Sketchup-Kerkythea? I have tried the walkthrough animation and it looks great, but now I would like to move the objects too.

Well, Miikka (this sounds so Finnish to me! 😄)

Animating object in SU is rather cumbersome and needs some practice either with the "face camera" settings of components or "Layers". However there is an ever developing project of "Sketchty Physics" by Chris (see thread here ) but to tell the truth I don't know whether it works with Kerky or not.
