    Ta folks, it is the ai thing.

    My design, mea culpa. Similar in concept to the hotrod I did some yonks ago but oriented towards track days.

    Working on a studio setup for Rayscaper so hopefully some renders then.

    After 22 hours of render time I just killed it as such R times are just ridiculous πŸ˜‰ .

    Maybe I should have rendered this in Podium or Vray.

    Thanks for the opportunity to play around with this model. The model itself is very well done as that makes it much easier to render properly. I am still messing around with this model in some other scenes and will post them here when I am done. Glad that I could be of help with the material setups. To anyone learning Vray will see that materials make the render. More time is spent setting up materials properly than with lighting setups to get great renders. Even the default render settings with Vray can produce amazing results.

    it depends from where you come from. on the plan it is aligned to the most travelled route to this place.

    but you are right, "Hs" have a way of looking like "Is" if you do not approach them head on...

    and helicopter does not start with an "I" in portuguese: helicoptero is the word.

    Yeah, that Arroway site is just really cool (I first found their link in the KT forums). And though the texture versions available for free are a bit smaller in size they can still be used for creating beautiful renders.

    Solo, 1984 is not even that much (from a default SU sphere we would get 1128 if I'm counting well (and if triangulated of course).

    I saw Your thread Yesterday. The reason I didnt reply
    then it is because I couldn t explain it so much in words
    but in a form of a similar presentations that I make.
    Although Your presentation is a great start I have a
    couple of suggestions and tips.
    Most of your Animation is apart from one or two
    sequences is actually a slide show. Slides,
    graphics, transitions, and proper design presentations
    can be dynamic and interesting even without or with
    very small amounts of animated sequences.
    By the way I have visited Your web site on several
    occasions and I really like Your work and I think
    it would benefit even more if You take this approach .

    thanks guys, these new xml presets are just awesome. i particularly like the noisy setting. the calculation is exact. there is really a big improvement from 1.4 to 1.5.

    I was refering to using white or grey clay vs brown. Although, this is personal preference there does seam to be some logic to white or grey being more harmonious with the blue sky.

    Yeah, becoming a material pedant comes with the territory when you do a lot of rendering πŸ˜’ . What looks ok in SU can stick out like a sore thumb in render progs.

    Hey guys, thanks for the feedback.

    The model was fun to make but the 2nd floor interior walls and windows got a little tedious toward the end. I do like how the stairs turned out. I wanted to use TINs for the walls but they don't work well for heavily curved walls with thickness. Instead I used follow-me to drive the curved profiles along curved paths and then did some tweaking with the rotate tool.

    The model - which the warehouse wouldn't load - is available here at the bottom of the page. I do not plan to render it but would love to see it rendered if someone feels like giving it a shot.

    Regarding how to build the walls. I've given that some thought. I think an approach that might work is to build them up layer by layer about 6" a pour using a flexible thick but bendable plastic mold. One of these days I'll put together a SketchUp model of the jig I have in mind.

    But what i did not make clear enough - this is a house that has been designed by a architect, that we purchased at a local real estate agency.

    The only "info" they had were the blueprints .. and thats it ... so i just amused myself creating a 3D image

    So roof - windows - ... its wasn't really our choice ..

    Gutters - very good remark - they aren't marked on the blueprints we have, but im sure somebody will have them

    There is a small technical glitch in marseillan-vitres.jpg. The bottom of the seawall is resting on the horizon line and that could not happen at the viewers altitude.

    Having said that, these are a very nice set of renderings.

    Re: the moon it would add more depth if the arch of the bridge bisected it forcing the moon into the visual distance.

    Still an excellant series of images.
