Yes, I will be putting the blade on some time this week when I get a free moment and I'll let it render over the weekend. I'll post an update when I have it. π
There was no rendering of this image. It is just SU and some Photoshop tricks. The final skp file was only 1.8 MB. All of the trees, cars, and people were done in PS. We have a nice RPC library here and it adds a lot to the basic SU image - I think.
Eric,
Very nice model.
I am experimenting with a technique in photoshop to make my renderings a bit more like Tina Anne Stiles at http://www.illustrationz.com
This house would look pretty awesome with her technique applied.
If Tina is reading this...
How do you get that hand crafted look on your buildings???
If trade secrets are infringed here, I apologize. But you do some awesome work!!!
--SECOND REVISION TO THIS POST--
Ok, Piranesi right?
are those apratments made out of shipping containers?
fantastic... great sketches too...
Don't want to get too far OT, but can't resist showing y'all a South Louisiana version of the Container School of Design.. Not a slick as the UK layout, but it did survive Hurricane Katrina.

I wouldn't mind a house I could weld on. If you put some poles at the corners, and some rings over the poles - it could float up and down with the flood waters.
it is a genuine worry. i will keep that in mind. thanks.
daniel,
this is a possibility although the original idea was to have the two end volumes as boxes within the main space. i will not do anything for now since the clients have not seen this new alternative yet. there is always the possibility that they do not like this one either...
