wow nice renders The only thing that I feel needs changing is the catamaran. You wouldn't normally have a catamaran at sail that close to the shore/mooring/dock. If you pull the sails down it would give a little more realism. I'm probably being picky. Its just that the rest is perfect.

Honestly I think the render is not bad. Its got a good feel to it, the glow is working pretty well. I don't care for the design much. So its hard to vote above. I don't want to vote high, because I don't like it overall. But its not fair to vote too low (for me) because the render itself is actually pretty good. So I give the render a god mark, the model itself a low mark. Chris

That's lovely elevator music to go along with your elevator project. Chris (PS In Engish, the term "Elevator Music" means very generic, pleasant, calming music. Often has a negative connotation ).

Tom, All your renderings are beautiful, but I always look at things through an architect's eyes and what is best for illustrating the building. I have to agree with Alan that #2 in the first set are better in that regards (IMHO) as they are cleaner. And in the last two, there is too much foreground with too much happening in it; the only reason I could a rendering from that perspective is if client specifically asked for it. I don't think your clouds are too distracting; in fact, the one in the middle witha vertical cloud formation over the corner tower enhances the architecture. Daniel

If you wish to model a rare version of the submariner, make the word submariner in red letters. Ken

Thanks everyone! Fletch, I'm going to try to do what you and Frederik suggested as soon as I can. You guys are life savers when it comes to learning the ins and outs of Kerky. I do have a question I hope one of you can answer... will there be an easier way of making IES lights in the next version of Kerky? I rendered this image at 4000x2173 pixels, so I'm sure that also had something to do with the 10 hour rendering time... Chris, this is a church here in NC. We do a lot of work for a church renovation company so every now and again I get to do some models for them. I really enjoy doing this type of work, especially when I get to see the clients reactions...

GREAT renders... My only crit will be on the trees... The sun/shadow doesn't match the render... Always difficult when you add such entourage in post pro...

Dont worry mate I've been having the same issues with HDRI location and actually posted to the MR wish list a solution I'd like to see incorporated. Modo also does real time lighting from HDRI so the results from the illumination channel can be quickly tested. I've been playing with a work around for correctly positioning the HDRI for the illumination channel, though haven't get it finished yet! Check it out it may give you some ideas, or you may see ways to contribute! Oh hang on you posted to it - duh! Mate as the last post I always add my skys in later, there are a ton of sky images out there, infact any photo with plenty of sky will work. Using plastic for car paints can look a bit unrealistic unless you are going for more primary colours that aren't so suited for arch work - the grey, silver, brown inert tones one wants for arch vis are generally metallic and therefore need a coating in the BSDF. Metallics do tend to look a bit flat as the sheen spreads and disperses the light more! I one day should get back to this project - I can still see a great need for them for Maxwell and any other app they might work with - any that can take weight maps! http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=10730 [image: testad1.jpg] [image: autosavecarqq9.jpg]
