I don't know if anyone's considering Painter X, but: http://www.nothingbutsoftware.com/Catalog_Type.asp?ProductCode=87342&ai=3695 This is the commercial version at a pretty reasonable price ($169.95). Hope this helps, John S.

teofas - Thanks so much for making that carpet tutorial. It's simple, direct and easy to master. I'm just learning V-Ray so it really helped me. Alex

Reminds me of my Seattle Class, a ship I drew last year around the same time as your first post. [image: afewnew.jpg] http://s479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/seattle221/Seattle%20class/?start=20

@david, I don't think I have ever laughed because of a render before about the black glass - I like to use the same look. I think people over do glass in their renders which causes an unrealistically flashy effect. When I look at most buildings with similar windows to your render, the glass always appears dark and more opaque in the sunlight - if anything I would say your windows are not dark enough! I suppose it is up to debate

I hope we can finally put this issue behind us in version 8. It's not funny...it's ridiculous. How can you call your software "PRO" IE sketchup PRO version and still have this major of a BUG in the application. Why would it matter where the camera is relative to the sun and the shadows that the sun cast when it hits solid objects. It's time that Google use some of it's brain power and solve this issue once and for all. OK I'll get off my soap box now.

@solo said: Face me does not work with Vray, you need to uncheck the face me and position them individually. Why is this? Vray for sketchup renders inside of SU so the faceme will always face the Vray camera. Unless he's rendering in Max or something. Do you think he means he's having trouble with transparency and alpha maps?

you're right, I used shift in the images. Works great actually and saves rendertimes by getting the frame where you want it at wide angle views. The PS work was just a afterthought really, For all images (5 in total) less than an hour. We are usually making these images in the designproces and so we are not all that good at the photowork with green and people. But I see some here spending proper time and talents to really work up a rendered image up to photorealism. I might get into that a little more when I have the time.
