dear Durant, unfortunately I have to agree with you, that George Lucas was wrong in thinking Episode I is supposed to be a naive children story. Anakin Sucks with his "ooops I saved the world" behavour. In the second movie I hated Hayden Christensens performance. this little stubborn adolocent shall become the most powerful Warrior of the imperator? the third movie was better, allthough way to short to tell Anakin's journey to the dark side. however, there were elements I really liked in that movie; Darth Maul for one was awesome (even if a bit too obviously diabolic). would have liked to see more of his double blade action. Ms Portman has allways been an eye catcher and added a bit of beauty throughout the second trilogy. but what I really loved about all three of the movies, what made me whatch them over and over again, was Ewan McGregor, a worthy successor of dear Sir Allec Guinnes. his ben kenobi was so charming, serious, powerful, cheeky... he made half of the movies - the other half was amazing SFX! but, Durant, I know exactly what you mean. I would have liked to see the first half of the Star Wars saga in a more sinister, dirty, realistic way - a bit like nowadays James Bond is reborn with Daniel Craigs performance or Batman is told in the right manner for the first time with Chris Nolans Dark Knight and Christian Bales great performance (who else would fit character like Bruce that well - just remember some of his previous movies, The Machinist for example) sorry, serrot, for jacking your thread Jakob PS: have you seen the "Firefly" series, Durant? or the first cinema appearance "Serenity"? great, fabulous, exciting - the best character of the old Star Wars movies, Hahn Solo, transferred into a dark, allmost realistic future of our universe... some great hours of film!

Serrot Wild, This is quite "Pushed," and progressive, but to be all down with telling you my guts on it, I find it a bit to scary... This is the kind of pad that the Grays will be looking to set up camp in, and the round tube glass walk way between the units would give me a big blast of "holy mad cow, I'm not digging it in here..." It reminds me of this aquarium deal I went to once with this Christie chick, you know the big kind that have the mad cap big tanks. We got all giggly getting an order of fish at the aquarium snack deal -- they really had fish at this joint -- and this curve was all fun and letting me look way down to deeply into her shirt top, and we decided to go wander through this shark deal that had a tube like that, and it was Jack bird a big mistake. This way bloated big thick gristle brain of a sad sack "I never had a more then a notions of eating everything that fists in my mouth" sharky shark comes all over to the glass tube and just stares at said date... Stares at her like she's a big brown hush puppy (not that I wasn't doing the same, but the shark was doing a more primitive kind of staring), so she got all, "It want's to eat me!" And that put an end to the fun, as later I said I wanted to "eat her like a shark," and that didn't get any traction, and she didn't find it clever, or kinky, or anything... She just said, "That's cleaver?... unfortunately, to much so by half..." Then she asked me to drive her home. So that left a bit of a scar. Durant "Harsh on sea life" Hapke

Thanks everybody! Solo, you was close . Waterpark. At Ukraine. But just its only concept (real work). Main constructions - spaceframes. Other - metal frame with composite facing work (this variation) Спасибо за отзывы! Проект аквапарка на украине. Точно где, не скажу. Пока. Конструкции - пространственный металокаркас.

It is not too far off on depth. Some of the relief may actually be floating and need to sink deeper and the light is a skimming light to exaggerate the feeling of depth. With a more straight on light the relief becomes much weaker. However for the fixed viewpoint of a still picture I select the extreme since the viewere can't change his/her viewpoint. I did learn something very interesting about flat relief work where you raise a plane parallel to your background plane. The raised plane will have a defining shadow at the bottom but the top of the raised plane will fade into the parallel background plane. So I went back and beveled all raised square edged surfaces and poof! There was the magic of a defining high light to go with the defining shadow. Small thing, but it made a world of difference. I am sure this little trick will be extremely valuable to architects who work with so many flat and parallel planes.

Thanks Jakob , The only thing I miss in Suanimate is a 'tilt camera' option and a better 'undo' operation when doing the scene tab creating process. Actually, I like it that Suanimate spreads the animation frames out in separate scene tabs, as that is the best way to get it rendered using PR render software. @David H, I have a daytime job as an independant architect. This little animation project didn't cost me much setup time: 1.5 hours setting up scene/animation and 1 hour video editing. The rendering process itself was over night.

Hi igor Wow, you seem to eat, live and breath SU & Podium. Do you ever do anything else but model and render? You got some really good stuff on here. You obviously enjoy it. Are you hoping to get into the 3D biz after your studies? Hope you have lots of fun with your new computer. My new one arrives next week and I can't wait!! Its about time you started using bumpmaps. No excuse now with all your new technology on your desk. And it will really improve your renders. If you haven't already then you ought to post some of your work over on the Podium forum http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/mb/supodiumforum Kev

@plot-paris said: sounds pretty advanced, the stuff you are producing there (even if I can barely see the effect you are trying to create - may be my badly calibrated monitor though ) and now I fully understand why you prefer maxwell's external material management to indigo's "all saved in SketchUp" approach. to set up this multilayered material in in indigo would be near impossible. Richard, I am truely impressed how detailed your knowledge of material-compositing is. I would love to see some more of your tests! Thanks plot (again!!) Mate I'm not so good with complex materials though have some idea how to use the editor long hand to get the result I'm after. Yes regarding Indigo's approach! This material has 4 layers to achieve the effect I'm after (the one you can't see!!;) ); Layer 1. Colour Map / Clip Map 1 / Bump Map - Diffuse. Layer 2. Colour Map / Clip Map 1 / Bump Map - Reflective. Layer 3. Colour Map / Clip Map 2 / Bump Map - Reflectance. Layer 4. Colour Map / Clip Map 3 / Bump Map - Reflectance. All said if Maxwell wasn't an unbiased Physically based renderer then nearly all of this could be done via one simple layer. So its a bit of a catch 22 - you can create amazing materials though sometimes like here you need to go to a lot of trouble to create alternatives to produce an otherwise rather simple effect.

If your using kerkythea, id suggest switchint to a biased render method, if i remeber correctly theyre a lot faster for doing interior scenes (which is a lot of the reason your lights take so long to render.) In indigo there isnt really a lot you can do other than sit it out. Oh, and if your using the latest version of indigo you can put all the lights on seperate layers nd adjust how powerful tey are while the renders going. Useful stuff

Good stuff (except that plant...) Are you using bump maps and displacement maps? (doesnt look like it ) if not its definetly worth trying them out, they can add a lot to the render.

Chris, Long time no see 'eh! I love the images, very cute and fitting for the subject. The popping primarys and the whimsical outlines are very effective. Not sure I would say the same on a different project with less flora and different subject matter, but it all seems very original to me. Very cool man.

Thanks mate appreciate your support! I love using the wire trees, I'd love to make some other types of model scale trees though find it hard to note any other good examples!
