Great modelling Julie and nice results with Podium! I see the light 'hotspots' in two of the images. Must be a real bummer for you to get those when otherwise your results are so great. Regards, Ross

If the numbers on the locos had been different, I'd have said it's not a render but real. Cool.

Hi guys @sir said: great start and welcome. nice layout and some good stuff you grabbed from the warehouse. some crits the whole thing is a bit dark, and id say the sun on the floor needs to be a bit brighter too maybe move the roses left a bit more, to draw the eye into the center, i thikn they draw too much attention atm finally, im not quite sure what is meant to be the focus of the image, if its the chair then maybe the background is too much? if its the background, its not enough maybe put a boat or something! just my opinions You are right, I tried to put the camera focus on the chair, but that might have been not the greatest idea. Thank you very much for your feedback @unkr3at1v said: I think I remember this room from some kind of vray interior tutorial! Am I right? But the picture looks nice, also if it has a little too much green in it! Greetz, Fritz Thank you very much for your feedback. And you're right this room is from a vray interior tutorial from andeciuala [image: WyMF_app4.jpg] In my new render I tried to incorporate all your guys feedback and I wanted to see what you think about the changes I made. Greetz, Alex

Regarding the Render Software: I will quickly tell you that there are others here who can better serve you on this question. Maybe you can search through the Forum, see what has been discussed in other threads. There is at least one thread on best renderer. Just use keywords in the search box. Good Luck

@ honoluludesktop - That's what I was thinking as well. @ matsuo_lano - I like the aesthetic concept, but to be honest I don't really understand the design and I'm not sure how the structure is supposed to work. I'm particularly wary of the symmetrical design - it's usually an indication that someone is putting aesthetics over and above any consideration for the way spaces function and interact.....but I could be wrong. Some floor plans or cross sections would be useful.

I'd be interested in this too, what would an experienced sketchup user do/what would a good approach be if he wanted to model a detailed bathrobe that was hanging from a hook?

First off sorry it has taken me so long to post this its been lying around on my desk for almost a week now I took onboard some of the comments and have changed a few things, including the perspective which hopefully makes the car appear that bit wider. I also increased the refractive index of the body work I think that this is about right as anything shinier just looked silly, I tried messing with the material on the grill but it is still appearing that bit to plasticy as alway comments are really helpful [image: rollsroyce3pp3.jpg] thanks.

Thanks. Yes the door on this is the same as the panels. We can do HPL doors and drawer fronts if the customer wants it but they still will be PVC edge banded (like the panels). The clips are Keku clips as that chase is a service void. Used for med-gas and water supply and drains. I did a render showing a typical base unit and wall unit with hanging rail. I'll put those up after while. @dermotcoll said: Nice cut-away image Glenn. Do you make the door from melamine faced chipboard as well? Man that is tight budget stuff! Is the base just used as a service void ? And what are the clips on the interior of the base? Click fittings? Many questions - very curious! Really like the point of view and the detail being shown, very interesting.

Andrew - Fotosketcher applies adjustable filter-type effects to whatever image you bring in. It processes the image and allows you to save it. It is a simple application. Where it excels is the effects can be more realistic than the typical photoshop plugin intended to produce similar results. What you get out of fotosketcher relates to what you put in. It won't for instance remove the lines from your typical sketchup output. It can definitely be used as part of a 'Dennis' type method where individual images are overlaid. I attach a simple example featuring a holding cell. A sketchup 'colours-only' export was processed in fotosketcher. A 'line-only' export was processed with a photoshop filter (EyeCandy 'Jiggles') and they were overlaid with transparency. Regards, Ross [image: p4nD_overlays.jpg]
