That's because you can't open a .skp file directly in Kerkythea...
You need to use the SU2KT plugin and as the manual clearly inform, export to the XML-format, which can be opened in Kerkythea...

It's like asking, where do I save a .doc-file to be opened in MS Word...
I suggest that you create a folder for each model, as all textures will get exported as separated texture files (e.g. in JPG format)...
