Maybe the problem is I was exporting a 2d image? I tried Export> 3d Model> dwg, no splat, but a terrible image, looks like a wireframe and the text is messed up. [image: cPbc_3d.jpg]

If all you actually want is a 'flat' 2d object made from lines and true arcs/circles, then you need to copy your SKP, then edit it - looking 'edge on' using a selection by fence, so the unwanted faceted 'sides' etc, and top face of the form can be deleted. Now you should have a 'flat' 2d set of geometry. If your cutter doesn't need faces you can delete those too. Now you should have a set of lines, arcs and circles. Export those as the 3d DXF and you should then just get the paths you want... Do not use a 2d DXF as that does NOT keep arcs/circles but makes them out of segments...

@Clara Is your roof-truss*** made from timber or steel? ***Or do you mean a rafter or shingle? What does it look like? You give us very little help! ¿Su cabriada** es hecha de madera o acero? **¿O quiere decir una viga o teja? ¿Cómo se ve? ¡Usted nos da muy poca ayuda!

Yes. If you sample the projected texture on the first side then paint it on the back, it will show reversed.

@hornoxx said: Hi what you see there is not a thumbnail, it is a added rendered..... Thanks! This worked out great for me. Something I noticed that I should add is that the dimensions of the image you insert into your file is important if you want the tile to be filled entirely. The dimensions are 1304 x 732. [image: LQMzliF.jpg] I think I am going to make a Youtube walk through once I figure out how to perfect the image. Thanks @HornOxx for the help!

An easy search on your part would have turned up the following: http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pauthor=cesaro36 Contact the author at the link given in the error messages. Apparently the author set a time limit on the free trial. That trial period has ended so unless the author establishes a new trial, you'll have to buy the extensions if you want to use them.

@hburns said: Simple when drawing the geometry hit the ctrl key and it will switch to the circumscribed or Apothem method. Yes. It is simple since SketchUp 2015 was released. Prior to that and when this thread was active, SketchUp didn't have this option as a native feature.

If you trying saving materials to the default folder it'll not work. Typically you get an admin warning. Set up a custom materials path under preferences

@ark said: In my work as an architect, I mostly use Sketchup to get a hold on the volumes. It's simply the best software for that purpose. Plans and elevations is done in Autocad Architecture (in my case). For a while I've been watching this community to be updated on the use of Sketchup. And it's remarkeble what you can do, mostly very detailed work for rendering purpose. But how do you use sketchup for architectural presentations? Is it for clean renderings, for simple "2D" plans and elevations, perspektiv sketches, volumes for handsketching on tracingpaper or......? I mostly use LightWave it provides 3D visualization, free cross-platform render nodes animation tools and much more.

Could you share the component? It'll be much easier to tell you what's wrong with it if we can actually see it.
