Thank you, I may do that, or as I really don't expect it to work I might just say forget it and redo the model. I still would like to know what the problem was so I don't repeat it (though I doubt it was something I did wrong). Because of that I may e-mail SketchUp support anyways to see if they can shed some light on the issue.

Yup, that's it. I knew there was a better method that what I've been doing. I've made the two forms, aligned them, and then drawn all the intersecting lines individually before I start erasing.

The intersect with model bit will save all the annoying parts of the work. Thanks,

Since I'm designing and not replicating, there is no image of an actual leg to provide. The curves do not need to be super accurate. The execution of the real thing is done by applying a pair of mirrored patterns to two adjacent faces of a board carefully matching their orientation to each other. The pattern on one face is then cut out using a band saw (or other saw capable of making curved cuts), and then the waste from the cut is taped back in place, and the adjacent pattern is cut out. This leaves a squared off version of the leg which is then rounded appropriately using rasps or other freehand tools. While pairs or sets of the legs need to be very similar to each other, this is not (in my case at least) a machining process which requires super accuracy.

i had the same problem. while trying the zero offset, it kept returning to the default value. as soon as i put something more than zero it worked.

Lou if it's the line where the groups meet which you are talking about then do the following.

Open the group.
Highlight the line, right click, hide.

Then do the same with the group which has the other line showing.

Although it looks like one line, you need to hide the line in each group.

The only problem with the dots.style is that the entire model changes.

I use these scripts quite often. You can open the XLine script and change the length of the dashes if you want. I think these 2 scripts go hand-in-hand.

James, if you're getting an error about the progress bar when you run a script you may want to download the progressbar.rb script and put it in your scripts directory with the rest. I noticed a couple scripts that I downloaded from smustard.com use it.
