Hi Modelhead,
Good to hear from one of my mentors.
With your help is assisting me building the web page, plus members of this community who assisted me in skill building in sketchup, a considerable number of people are benefiting from this web page.
It's facinating what can be achieved as a team.
cheers
Alan
PS I've sent a PM to Hebrides explaining the late reply.

RE: Blogs?
Hi Hebrides,
I thought that I subscribed to this topic and was awaiting an automated email, to let me know of any
responses. I Hope you will accept my appology for my rather late (over 2 years) reply and thanks.I decided in the end just to upload the information for free.
At present the highest monthly visits have been 3924, and the web page is still in the early stages.
thanks again for all the help from Modelhead, and all the assistance from this community in the SketchUp field
cheers

RE: A legal question
Hi Guys,
Many thanks for the replies.
The project i will be writing about is how i select the timber right through to the completion of the project, a small jewellery box with miniature dovetails made from ripple maple. The best way of describing the whole project is that i will be taking a piece of timber and writing about how and why i carry out a process. Tool sharping, jig making, the lot
The project is really a 'thank you' to every single person who has helped myself and my wife Barbara throughout our life. People we call our mentors or inspiration, and that by the way includes you guys at sketchuction who brought me up to scratch, plus of course Modelhead who tutored me in web page building.(soon to be improved Bruce)
In my mind most methods can be improved, and a fair percentage of my stuff is really the development of other peoples work. Having said that quite a number of jigs and techniques are, as far as i am aware, unique to me.
It was for that reason that i was more than happy to give credit to anyones elses input.
When i am ready, i will start a new thread in the Woodwork forum notifying the forum of the said updates and the topics covered. I would then be more than willing to answer any questions with regards to that topic to clarify my attempts.
I was amazingly luckly at school have some superb teachers in woodwork, technical drawing and other subjects. I will bring the same passion and commiment to this project as they and the others that have had a positive impact on my life.
With other interested parties getting involved via this forum, the information and knowledge will grow and we will be able to provide a service second to none.
thanks again

A legal question
Hi Guys,
Been away from this forum for a considerable time working on the the content of my web page http://www.hand-cut-dovetails.comA few years ago i attended a woodworking course. No legal agreements were signed or verbal agreement with regards to any information or knowledge being passed to another party.
A few years later i wrote for a woodworking magazine for a brief period and after the first issue appeared the said course tutor wrote to the editor of the magazine complaining that i had used some of the knowledge from his couse in the body of the article. I had in fact mentioned this in the body of the article but the editor of the magazine decided to omit this fact.
I wrote to the said tutor, and in his reply he said that he had complete copyright to all knowledge from his course.
My opinion is that this is not correct.
In the very near future i will be updating my web page so that as far as possible, all the information i provide will be in the form of my origianl sketchup models, one of the best methods i can think of of getting my message across.
I will be removing the google ads from my site. I will not therefore be receiving any finincial benifits.
I am based in the UK.
Any views please.
thanks

RE: Blogs?
Hi guys,
Not sure if anyone has time to help me on this task but I would like to upgrade my web page.
http://www.hand-cut-dovetails.com
With the help of modelhead I managed to get the present site up and running. It has been on the web for some time, and I’m pleased with the listing I have on google and yahoo.
I am aware of the stats pages, what topics are most viewed. I would now like to go to phase 2.
What is that?
I want to provide a downloadable pdf document. This will give a step by step guide on a ‘how do I do that’ type of topic, for example.
How I personally get a chisel fit to make miniature dovetails. This is available on my web page at present but you have to going via various links. In this instance I would upgrade the process and it could end up in the region of 50 pages long.
What help am I looking for?
Ideally a step by step guide as per the previous tuition by modelhead to show me how to set up a downloadable pdf document that people would pay for using pay pal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you
Alan WoodPS It would appear that all Ineed to do is upgrade from the web hosting account to a merchant solutions plan.

RE: How Healthy are YOU?
Hi Mike
Glad to hear that you are on the mend. Here is a few ideas that may be of use.Over the years (59 soon) I would have to say that my greatest learning curve, health wise has been in the last three years or so.
In no particular order I’ve improved the following to a level that I am really happy with.
a I had to tendency to ‘binge’ occasionally on food, sweets, chocolate, ice-cream, take away food etc, until I bought the book by Paul McKenna ‘I can make you thin’. Getting out of my bad habits (key word here IMHO) took around 3 weeks. I measure in the region of 6’ 4 ½ “, and hit the scales at
13stone 6lbs. Really really happy at this weight.
As a result of that book we bought a running machine and use that around 3 times per week. 10 minutes slow warm up, then ½ hour of walking at 6kph and varied slope between 6 and 12(max).
This effectively gives me near limitless energy.
b Booze. I’ve cut down by booze intake to sharing a ½ bottle of champagne
every week with my better half. I just love it that I am now completely
in control of my drinking habits (I just love this word because for me it is the
key)
c Stress Many years ago I really needed help in this area because I was well
and truly stressed. This was solved with a book by Paul Wilson ‘calm at work’. Also helped a number of friends. Fortunately for me I had two superb role models during my working days. Exceptionally motivated and calm as a still water. If ever I felt that I was rushing around I would ‘see’ these two guys in my mind and it worked as an immediate ‘switch’. I could become Mark or Tim. They were really inspirational to me.The calm at work book taught me so much. That was amazing. I know that I am using a lot of highly complimentary adjectives in describing how these books, and two guys helped me, but it is totally justifiable.
cheers
