HI, I put the 2 files into the plugin folder and renamed toggle_units.txt to toggle_units.script and I get an error when starting SU "Error Loading File toggle_units.rb cannot convert nil into String", but then the plugin works. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance, Tom

Thanks, I'll try to remember these tips. @tig said: Making the profiles [and rails], each with the same number of segments gives best results in EEbyRails - to weld complex sets of arcs/edges into one curve first select all and explode back to plain edges - they stay selected then use 'weld' to join them...

@click draw said: Can anyone provide any testimonial for this Ivy Generator? I have downloaded so many programs that don't live up to the expectations of the software provider. No disrespect intended. Does this work well with Sketchup or is it kind of hit and miss? Thanks, Jeff Ivy Generator is good, but not for SU. Too high poly. Naturally if you import the generated ivy directly to your rendering app, it should be fine too. But then you most likely will need a external renderer, I am not sure if any renderer running in context of SU, can handle links to external files...

Over the Kerkythea site there is a download section with a bunch of materials that have been created with physically accurate settings. Also, on their forums there are a lot of materials shared by users. It is a very friendly place with a bunch of helpful people, I can recommend registering and looking around there.

Thanks to both, I'm taking a look at both the scripts. I have a little question about Repeat Copy, before I buy it : will it use the normal of the receiving face for orienting the pasted component? I also tried "Component on face" by Chris Fullmer and it's quite useful though not exactly what I was looking for (some manual tweaking is required). Thanks again

Thanks for that mate, really, really interesting. I worked for many years as a measured building surveyor so am ok with that side of things and i have a few mates who I could 'borrow' a disto off! It was more the dynamic of actually starting a project like (which, I will mention again, looks fab). I suppose its similar to like you have touched on in another thread - it's all about confidence and having the actual confidence to promote the value within the finished project that we know is there, but others may not.

Once in a while, after a flurry of activity, a dialogue box is minimized, and or hidden, and or off to the side, etc.

@unknownuser said: Go to Window/Styles/Edit/Watermark Settings. You can follow a little wizard that will setup what you want. Ahhh, perfect. So, the watermark is any image, specified as part of the style, and the style is specified as part of the scene. I'd presume that the google tutorial images were created via Layout. Thanks so much.

Hi Jeff, once you get the previes shape looking how you want, just press enter to finalize the process. That will then make a final shape. Hope that helps, Chris

Zoom extents, then export a jpeg. In the jpeg export dialog window, press the "Options" button. Then change the image resolution to something much higher than screeen resolution. SU does not support anything over 9999 pixels I think. And I will often get crashes when try to save anywhere over 8,000 pixels wide or tall if the model is complex. So always save before exporting a high resolution image. And turn OFF anti-alias. If you leave anti-alias turned on, then SU often struggles with images over 4,000-5,000 pixels. Chris
