      Hi!

I have a problem, if I upload an object, for example, a piano, the scale
      is wrong for my 'house'.

How can I enlarge or reduce the piano?
Because I draw at 1/100. And it's way too big.

(sorry if I write mistakes, my Enlish is not perfect)

      Jiri

        Hi Jiri,

This is a big mistake, sorry. Always draw everything to scale (1:1). At the end, you can always scale your model but even that is not necessary as you can print your model to whatever scale you want.

Otherwise you can always use the Scale tool to scale any of your objects but in the 3D Warehouse you will (mostly) find everything that is 1:1 scale.

Have a look at the Help Center (and browse through the tabs on the top) about the Scale tool:

Ah yes, and welcome to SCF!

EDIT: This was typed while Gaieus was posting, but felt cmpelled to post!

          Hi,

you can use the tape measure tool to resize your piano.

First measure from one edge to another to find out it's size (the size will be displayed in the vcb) then just type the dimension you want for this and press enter.

You'll be asked 'do you want to resize the model?' select yes and voilà your piano will be to scale!

This method will also rescale your house so it's best to do this to just this piano without the house been present. Then you can copy the piano to your house.

          Or.....

If the piano is a group/component, you can right click it and choose edit, then measure and type required measurement. It will the ask 'do you want to resize group/component?' choose yes and your house will not be affected.

            @ Gaieus
The scale tool I've found, but it's not easy to rescale it perfect.

            @ rclub24
I'm sorry, so first you measure it with the tape measure,
            but I can't type anywhere.
Or maybe I do it wrong?

            Thanks for help!

              Jiri,

If you are modelling at 1:100, all you have to do is to select the piano you want to scale, select the scale tool, start scaling by one of the corner grips and type 0,01 then hit enter (I guess your decimal separator is a comma , and not a dot . )

I would still suggest to model your house in full - 1:1 - scale. Again, use the scale tool as above, type 100 and hit Enter...

I'm sorry, but where can I find that 'scale button'?
                I don't find it.

(I'm working with sketch up 6)

Why do you feel the need to model at anything different to 'full-size' [1:1] ? 😕
It's just extra complication you don't need........

                    TIG is right.

However you can access the Scale tool from a bunch of places:

                    • Tools menu > Scale
                    • The S keyboard shortcut (by default)
                    • The modification toolbar from View > Toolbars
                    • From the same place, the Large toolset also contains this toolbar.

also, when you want to enter numerical input, you can see what you are typing in the far right-bottom corner of your screen. You never need to click there, just type away!!
