Thanks for the suggestion. Before seeing is I found another way, which is imperfect but so far it's seemed "good enough". What I've done is replaced a section of ramp with a Bezier curve, starting as a curve between a corner of the two sections I want to join (further apart than the little gap I showed). Once the curve is spanning the gap, I use a plugin called "FollowMeAndKeep" which copies the rectangular cross-section along the curve. It's not really following the path I wanted, but with care I can make it good enough for visual purposes, which is all I need right now. I'll check out your idea and see if that can do a better job. So thanks again.

No not particularly just this happens reasonably often and I also had some autoCAD problems, which the AC forum thought was RAM/videocard. I'm just guessing really. The renderer is podium.

Dave is right. Volumes meeting at a common edge are not regarded as 'solid'.[image: Vq8i_Capture1.PNG] Volumes that are separate are 'solid'.[image: BgbM_Capture2.PNG] Volumes that overlap and share a common 'internal' face are not regarded as 'solid'.[image: H4oy_Capture3.PNG] Volumes that overlap but have no internal faces [here they were removed] are 'solid'.[image: oZp3_Capture4.PNG]

Well, yeah, if you disable hardware acceleration (which in his case was only a test), you do not get antialiasing.

You can use, for example, the Remove all materials plugin and then do "purge unused" materials.

Well I was thinking about curtains, light caps, vases, and things like that! Thanks for answering so quickly Gai and of course for the links! I was aware about the TGI plugin but I was looking more for a free one cause if I download the trial I am sure I ll be tempted to buy it! . by the way the workflow is quite simple, as it seems!!! Thank U both. Cheers

Yes it does, check your export options tab, you probably do not have it selected.

@pilotbroberts said: will this program alow me to "let's say" make a skyscraper, including the floor plans of floor by floor and add actual windows? Architecture is Sketchup's middle name, if you can't make a skyscraper with it then nothing will do. Just an example. Hi guys, Indeed, I have tried from contours on a mesh previously created from scratch of the sandbox (expecting the closest result as it had been before deleting the faces) and it came out completely different and unpredictable (and lot more edges than necessary). So my solution was not the ideal here.

@d12dozr said: Regarding the bottle, it may be the faces are too small for SU...if that is the case, just scale up by 10 or 100, before follow me, then scale back down afterwards - and the faces will be kept. Scale? Great! It works! by the way, have any idea to create these kind of bottle? [image: bingunge.jpg] I have no idea maybe a product designer is better than an architect in shaping things

Thanks for confirming that I wouldn't be able to export... Appreciate the reply's. Now I'm just stuck with trying to duplicate it... I'm sure I can, computers are magical after all It's just figuring out how to do it... easier said then done.
