As we have posted on the Shaderlight forum, this is behaviour that is being caused by Shaderlight. This was discovered following your initial query to Shaderlight support. Jean, You are right, but if you start SU with the provided icon and you wants to open a sketchup file you are still in drawing mode. That's no logic behind I was making a lot of mistakes starting and selecting somethings but instead of that I was always drawing some lines. BTW, most of the time I start with a box and not with lines. @TIG You are my hero! This is exactly that was I was searching for! Thank you also for the list. It's impossible to tell from your image of the folder structure if it's a User path or a HD one. The correct path to install MAC plugins is something like this - called the 'Root' Plugins folder: **Macintosh HD**/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/Plugins and NEVER this one.... *Users/A_User*/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 8/SketchUp/Plugins even if that User is the 'Admin' - because then other Users - like you - can't see that folder ! I suspect you've put the stuff into the Admin Users path folder... and not the 'Root' one !

I wish I could find a plugin that would make money come out of that unused A-drive slot on the front of my computer.

Ok, so the I have solved the problem. It appears the problem was intoduced in sketchup 8. All you have to do is go "file" , "geo-location" , "clear location". For what ever reason that is what is causing the problem. Clear that and you are good. Thanks for the response though!

Note however that the maximum size of an image that can be imported into SketchUp is 1024x1024, so any file larger than that will be automatically downsized. As of SU7 you can override this by enabling "Use maximum texture size" in Preferences>OpenGL that lets SU use the largest texture size supported by your graphics card (might slow down SU). This option affects textures and images on the screen (not export or print quality). Rendering apps should be able to "see" the original texture resolution. It is recommended that for better quality results, larger images should be downsized before importing into SU, using a photo editing program like Photoshop (one that supports bicubic resampling) and saved as a high-quality JPEG file.

Sounds like the plugin Shapes which is normally found under the Draw menu. The option is called Box instead of cube.
