I saw this my immediate thought tha having a two car garage in this day and age would be a practical but quickly realised that having a double garage door on the frontage would not work with the proportions of a Craftsman home. Very nicely done mate you nailed this

I looked up your first post. It appears that you linked to images hosted on ImageShack. Maybe you can contact them to see if they still have them somewhere. Perhaps they are still there if you log in to your ImageShack account. [image: 1739457889331-screenshot-2_13_2025-8_43_43-am.png]

Thank you Daniel, I owe it to your teachings oh great one. not only is there a need for privacy but the wall on the right of the house needs to be a sound barrier, the neighbor has several dogs that yap day and night. I've a few neighbors like that - their dogs bark constantly the minute they see me or anyone else, and they don't stop! Your house also reminds me of the very first project in architecture school (also a house) which was on a lot bounded on three sides by 10' walls - the professor didn't want us to worry about context. I turned mine into a giant aquarium with part of the house under water. "great one" - I like that.

@serrot said: what am I doing wrong? Did you read what I wrote? In SU2016 and earlier versions you could turn off hardware acceleration which would make the CPU do the rendering. With SU2017, that is no longer an option. The rendering is done by the GPU. That means the GPU must be sufficient. Again, what graphics card? What driver version? There have also been many user reports of delays related to some files Microsoft pushed in automatic updates. Removing those fixed the problem. First, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and that your graphics card can support OpenGL 3.0 or higher.

@daniel said: @serrot said: @daniel said: Impressive. Most impressive. Obi-Wan has taught you well. I'm not convinced of the dining room/murphy bed room. Not sure it will work logistically, and tucking the dining room back within an enclosed room is counter to the Usonian house concept. Hey Daniel, so glad to get a note from you, the reason for the multi purpose room comes from the way my sister( the client ) uses her spare room now, it is primarily intended as a guest room but would be used as a dinning room only during the Christmas holidays. Well, that's a new one. I once designed a home for client that had a formal dining room, but no living room, but did have an alcove for the Christmas tree (complete with fireplace - ya gotta hang those stocking some place). Did your sister like the design? LOL...a bottom less pit, what a great idea!! My sister liked it very much but initially had a problem with the design because of the stair, she was looking at the floor plan with her I phone and did not see the elevator.
