Very cool design. I have to close this window before my wife sees....I'm afraid if she sees she'll make me build it...
Thank you!

TINY HOUSE ON 24FT TRAILER
This tiny house design addresses issues common to the constraints found in this type of dwelling.
Entrance is located in the middle rather than at the end walls, this allows the sofa to be placed across the end wall and eliminating the " Hallway" effect common to these floor plans.
The entrance side of the house only has clerestory windows allowing daylight in but maintaining privacy,
Too many tiny houses have kitchens that take up too much living space and are more suitable for a regular house, this design is compact with a two burner stove top ( all a single person really needs ) and a microwave/ oven above a narrow refrigerator.
The windows of the bedroom alcove consists of modules that can be taken apart allowing the roof to be flattened, this is maximum height for transport.
The entry door and deck overhangs can be dismantled and secured to the roof for transport.
NOTE
This is just an exercise, i am not a fan of tiny houses, having lived in small studio apartments ( the last being just 209 SQ FT) i know first hand the need for space and breathing room, also tiny house designs continue to get bigger in square footage and more expensive leaving behind its original purpose to make a small and inexpensive dwelling.

RE: Metal Fabric - just an exercise
Nice work, would love to see this applied as skin to a building.

Nice clean presentation
Yes !! why is it named "Urban Ranch" ?Urban because it is designed for a city lot and ranch because it reminds me of the mid century ranch houses.

Clever planning serrot. This should be ideal for comfortable single occupancy, particularly students.

Really like your presentation. Can't imagine living in something that small.
This unit is 200 sqft, my last apartment was a studio that was 209 sqft with seven foot ceilings, you adapt.

It looks too much tiny, I would say, but nevertheless, you've done a great work on that!
Yes, it is tiny because it is a micro apartment.

MICRO APARTMENTS
I've been following the micro apartment, tiny house movement for some time now so i decided to give it a try. The building consist of 50 identical micro units with aprox. 200 sqft. in size each with 9ft ceilings.
Instead of using multi purpose furniture the units are visually divided into four areas, entry/kitchen, bathroom, living, sleeping, with the sleeping alcove wide enough to house a full size bed on a platform, also i visually separated the entry/kitchen from the living space by dropping the living room floor two steps.
As always comments are welcome.
Thanks

Really nice design, Hector. I like the contemporary approach you took (as opposed to the ubiquitous logs). You'll probably need a few diagonals on those steel columns. A few comments.
- consider introducing another species of wood. I once stayed in a cabin where the entire interior (doors, walls, cabinets, ceilings, etc.) were the same wood. It was nice wood, but overkill.
- bathrooms tend to be very humid places at times, so you might reconsider the wood walls in there.
- making a full sized bed that's pushed up against a wall aint easy - you might consider adding a few feet to those bedrooms.
- How does one get down to the river to go tubing?
Daniel, how good to hear from you! so glad you like it, i will take into consideration your comments
NO 4 What river? -

Great design and presentation. I often forget how powerful the basic SketchUp texturing and lighting is.
Thank you, call me a purist but i feel that once i give my design to a render program then the finished drawing stops being mine, i prefer to keep it pure Sketchup.

Great job. Had to chuckle at the "cabin" in the title. Doesn't really look like the cabins in the places I've lived.
Yes, that was the idea, to not look like any other cabin out there.

CABIN IN THE WOODS
The client, myself,
First level, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom
Middle level, kitchen, eat/ studio, terrace
Lower level, living room, catwalk.
I wanted the cabin to feel strong, safe, cocooned.Comments are welcome.
