    • RE: IRender NXT questions

      Hi Solo

Sorry can't help with renderplus logon I'm sure Al will.

Never had the issue with mirrored floors, could it be that Irender is picking up settings from other rendering engines and applying them?

The shadows can be changed via the cloudiness adjustment. The dark adjustment in sketchup has no effect with IRendernXt.
Link to help sunlight cloudiness page.

I tend to use the IRendernXt sunlight and sky settings rather than the sketchup.

You can increase the number of passes and time. The more passes the better the image etc, and you can increase the size of image render if that helps with AA. Maybe Al could chime in here.passes.jpg

Also you can set compression levels for saved jpgs so less lost of quality etc. You can also save out as pngs and the change the max texture size on the Special Tab can be set to 0 for no max.jpg.jpg

There should be a setting on Special Tab to auto load.

Hope that helped for now, until Al can get you onto the forum

    • RE: New Rendering Contest

Glad to see your enjoying it as much as me πŸ‘ so far.
It will interesting to see how you get on. I believe there is also a 64 bit batch rendering version that I believe Al colud give you access to if the 32 doesn't work. They have been waiting for people to push the size limit.
Lets hope with this competition others give it go and find out it virtues. Quick and simple, but with access to additional more complex features if you need them.

Hi Chris IRender Lite and IRender nXt can render the edges and lines, and you can changed the thickness but not individually, and you can set which lines you want to render. It does not however render styles.

Could it also be that the first cpu the pentium III Xeon is a lot slower than the more modern pentium dual E(2?)180, as sketchup as is very reliant on the single cpu it can run on.

Al from from Render Plus has been working on something called NprTools, buts there's still has some development to do, and it has not been released yet. The sketchy materials would be great for hatches etc, and I do like the look of the sketchy shadows

    • RE: OpenGL Driver Help

I have just update my drivers on a vaio laptop Nvida Geforce Go 7600, but not from Sony but from a moded driver site (Gaming), as Sony and Nvida have not provided any updates, and it works fine, however when updating the drivers for the family computer with Geforce 6500 from Nivida, I got the dreaded cursor trails, I did not want to turn off hardware acceleration as you Al, so changed the capability in GSU preferences opengl setting to a lower quality and it went away πŸ˜„

EDIT I have also just come across this in model info that might help somebody, if they experience display problems
